This framing isn’t accurate. I said I could not support any bill that isn’t legal. And my attorney suggested that the change would need to take place at the state level instead of through a charter amendment. I am looking forward to seeing the bill reports and will proceed from there. It is disappointing to see the Brew report this without context (I have always fought for the IG including last year during the budget), and without investigating whether this bill meets legal sufficiency.

In Baltimore, "low bidders" often return to the Board of Estimates seeking millions to finish the project. tinyurl.com/2kuabvxu A proposed charter change would end competitive bidding. But what would replace it?

Pope Leo made a plea on Wednesday for countries to offer their citizens universal healthcare, calling it a "moral imperative" that ‌people have access to the health services they need, in an unusually strong appeal. For @Reuters reuters.com/business/healt…

@jedweeks @Cheryl4moco And maybe also be aware of the fact that Fox is a Sinclair entity that is *certainly* not cooperating or collaborating with Brandon Scott. You know- just, like…basic political stuff.

@Cheryl4moco Idk man I'd try to know the difference between the city and county before running for office.

Imagine being so susceptible to Sinclair media outlets glazing you up that you just…transform yourself into a anti-Baltimore propaganda machine. Complete with staged, furious-faced photos. Truly incredible to witness.

@jedweeks @BaltimoreBrew Cc: the frenzied adherents to the unelected 3rd district community leader (lol) who methodically seeded and perpetuated the entire “opposition” because Ryan Dorsey told him “no” like four years ago

@mddirtlaw @BaltimoreBrew Why clarify when you can just repeatedly publish verbatim quotes supplied by the ringleader of this entire uproar as fact?

This exchange just happened on the Senate floor. Cornyn: “I don’t understand how the SAVE Act disenfranchises voters.” Durbin: “Happy to explain. Driver’s licenses don’t qualify under the bill. 50% of Americans don’t have passports.” Cornyn: “Why not just amend it?” Durbin: “When’s the last time the Senate actually amended a bill?” Silence. The SAVE Act requires passport-level documentation to register to vote. 50% of Americans don’t have a passport. The people least likely to have passports: the elderly, the poor, rural Americans, young first-time voters. The people most likely to have passports: wealthy Americans. This is not voter protection. This is voter selection. And when a senator suggested fixing it — his own colleague couldn’t name the last time the Senate amended anything. That’s the Senate in 2026.

@ngpsu22 Choosing to run for office in three different districts, one of which was two counties away from Baltimore, over two decades is relevant. It's also relevant if he's changing his message based on the demographics of the district in which he chooses to run.

Not only has Bobby LaPin run in multiple legislative districts, he once ran for delegate in Harford County- where he talked about how cities like Bel Air & Abingdon should not have to suffer from "Big City issues." I wonder what he meant by that?
