Hypothetically…….. We are being taxed on money we never made.
Let that sink in.
If I bought my property outright for $160,000 in 2009
Now the county says it’s worth $446,000.
Did I sell it? No.
Did I make a profit? No.
Did I get a check for $446,000? No.
But my taxes jumped like I did.
That’s the problem.
This isn’t income.
This isn’t cash.
This is a number someone decided on paper and now I’m being billed for it.
If my stock portfolio doubles, I don’t pay taxes until I sell.
If my income doesn’t increase, I don’t magically owe more income tax.
So why does owning a home work differently?
Why am I being taxed on unrealized gains?
A house isn’t just an investment, it’s where people live. And this system means you can do everything right, pay off your home, and still get squeezed harder every year because of a number you never turned into money.
You don’t truly own something if you can be taxed out of it.
This isn’t about “services” or “inflation.” It’s about being charged for value you never received.
It’s time people start to notice.

When we bust out of the playoffs I would like to see us go after Steve Kerr. We need a coach who is respected enough to call out officials on the constant wrist slaps that Jokic never gets a call on. You should check with your city to see what their rules/laws dictate. I say that because most cities have a "set-back" rule regarding fences that state that not only do you have to build the fence on your own property, but you have to be "set-back" a certain distance from the neighbor's property line. That said, your neighbor is likely more than 7" too close to your property. Good luck!

@jk_rowling I live in Minnesota and work in construction. It's very cold here ½ the year. I wear insulated hoodies to work every day. They are warm enough for me to avoid a heavy coat, yet light enough to not have me sweating and removing it whenever I enter a truck or building. Practical.

Sad thing is, our food supply contributes a lot to it in the U.S. Some of us are more genetically prone to gain weight, but everybody is heavier than they should be because of our terrible foods supply. We can fight it though!

The worst was clothes shopping because all my older sizes never fit so it would make me feel bad about myself. Im very skinny now and prefer this a million times over being big.
