🌴🌙💰 It's only Tuesday, but it's already been a HUGE week for #FITSForum, our open 🎙️ feature. Here's another great submission from Diane Hardy of the Mom & Pop Alliance of SC about the Palmetto State's new income tax law and what it does/doesn't do. ⬇️ fitsnews.com/2026/03/17/fit…

The fundamental question we had to answer: Do we, a Republican supermajority, want to fund climate change studies or spare 22% of the state from tax hikes? My vote was for tax relief. Sadly, the House, once again, mostly disagreed.
Liberty Action@LibertyAction25

SC legislators would rather spend $3 million on WOKE “Climate Change” research than eliminate the state income tax. Thank you @Jscottpace for bringing this amendment and fighting for taxpayers!

Thank you @Jscottpace for fighting against the absurd tax hike passed in the SC House and fighting to make sure that no one would get a tax increase!

Conservatives who attend church weekly are the least likely to have ever been diagnosed with a mental health condition. Liberals who have low attendance are the most likely to have a diagnosis.

@benfordbrew I didn’t vote for the requirement for more liability insurance that created this issue. In fact, I continue to support complete tort reform to solve the situation along with scbata.org

That’s wonderful! Why can’t my brewery: 1) self distribute? 2) obtain affordable liquor liability insurance? 3) open past 5pm because LL insurance is $30,000+ from $1,500? 4) obtain a special event permit and insurance if I already have a permanent license that is worthless unless I have $30,000+ to waste? Does this make sense? I beg you to try and explain! Why??? Do you realize how many people crack a bottle of beer, or liquor bottle in their cars as soon as they leave any off premise establishment? But you’re blaming us for people’s bad decisions! I have never voted for a Democrat in my life, I was raised in a military GOP family in South Carolina. You guys have screwed my small business along with the Democrats! Just for the record! And I will not forget!

Busy day at the statehouse. Every dollar we cut from the budget is a dollar that we can move toward reducing the income tax for everyone.

‼️ The House just voted to concur with Senate amendments on the blue-collar tax hike H.4216 with a vote of 71-49. Rep. Jordan Pace offered several amendments in attempts to make H.4216 a tax cut for everyone, not just a portion of the population. None were adopted. Before the vote to concur was taken, Rep. April Cromer told the body that they had all day to “trim the fat” of bureaucracy, but instead the House decided to give more money to state agencies and increase taxes on over 20% of South Carolina taxpayers. “Next year this could be devastating for some families.”
