@KandRMom

Love all things public policy, esp health care, increasing quality mental health care reimbursement. GOP should be about fiscal responsibility, limited govt.

It's almost as if the Billionaire Tax proposal and the simplistic analysis supporting it were written not to be effective policy, but to be the basis of a presidential run, or something.

"The danger is not that too many people will learn a trade. It is that we will once again tell a generation that this is the responsible choice, this is the safe bet, this is what young people should do without acknowledging how quickly safe bets become crowded precisely because they are treated as universal advice." Thank you @RussFulcher. For those who insist the action in Iran is worth the money, find offsetting cuts or new revenues to pay for this new military action. I hope @RepChipRoy and @RepDanCrenshaw agree. @RepTonyGonzales, stand for fiscal responsibility as a capstone to your congressional career. @BudgetHawks @ConcordAction From Politico: Senior Republicans expect the White House to send a supplemental military funding request as soon as the coming days — and the price tag could grow after it hits the Capitol (more on this below). That could be a problem for fiscal hawks who have historically opposed massive spending bills. “I haven’t seen any specifics,” Rep. Russ Fulcher said. “But if it’s unpaid-for, I generally have an issue.”

My conversation with John Arnold (@johnarnold). Few people I've spoken with have as wide a view of the global system as John. He was one of the most successful energy traders of all time, and after stepping away from markets he built a foundation devoted to solving America's most critical systemic problems in a principled way. John's recent trip to China was the catalyst for this conversation, and I feel lucky we all get to learn from him. We discuss: - His trip to China and what it taught him about robotics, AI, and EVs - What it takes to be the best (and what it costs) - Building the best seat in the market - The state of energy markets today - NIMBYism as the impediment to progress - What he thinks about the wave of nuclear startups - Fixing America's broken systems: healthcare, criminal justice, education, and journalism Enjoy! If Cornyn holds onto his lead, will Trump endorse and end this thing? Paxton would be gone. Texas off the map. More money to defend ME and NE. GOP holds senate.

Dear @RepFletcher, As a constituent I am asking you to cosponsor and advocate for the Fiscal Contingency Preparedness Act (H.R. 4642), bipartisan legislation to require the federal government to assess and report its ability to respond to national emergencies like recessions, energy crises, and national security threats. As noted, the national debt can cause higher interest rates that everyday Americans feel mortgages, credit cards, and small businesses. @ConcordAction @BudgetHawks

@SarahLongwell25 @charlescwcooke I wish you had spent more time criticizing Biden during his administration from a conservative perspective. Instead you stood by him to the point you refused to state in 2023 that he should not run for reelection. You have a HUGE following and could have used it.

Events in the Middle East and the Gulf region are unfolding extremely rapidly. Unfortunately, Ukraine knows all too well what this is about. Although Ukrainians never threatened Iran, the Iranian regime chose to become Putin’s accomplice and supplied him with “shahed” drones, and not only the drones themselves, but also the technologies to produce them. Iran also provided other weapons to Russia. Over the course of this full-scale war, Russia has used more than 57,000 shahed-type attack drones against the Ukrainian people, cities, and energy infrastructure. Other nations have also suffered from Iranian-backed terror. Therefore, it is fair to give the Iranian people a chance to rid themselves of a terrorist regime and to guarantee security for all nations that have suffered from terror originating in Iran. Our position is well known, and Ukraine has stated it repeatedly, including recently. It is important to preserve as many lives as possible. It is important to prevent the war from expanding. It is important that the United States is acting decisively. Whenever there is American resolve, global criminals weaken. This understanding must also come to the Russians. People cannot know the day or the hour, yet every act of evil, terror, and aggression against neighbors ultimately meets a just response. We expect that, in the end, the Middle East region will become safer and more stable. Much has already changed toward that goal. Ukraine is ready to help every nation so that security and justice increase, and terrorist regimes decrease.

I commend the extraordinary bravery, discipline, and professionalism of the troops who carried out this mission, and thank our allies for their swift and decisive coordination to protect our servicemembers in the immediate aftermath of these strikes. We pray for their safety, and for the innocent civilian lives that were lost. There is no question that Iran’s brutal regime must be held accountable for its ongoing aggression abroad and its ruthless repression of its own people. Last summer, following Operation Midnight Hammer, I supported the administration’s targeted actions in Iran after receiving a comprehensive briefing from senior officials. Events are rapidly unfolding, and I expect Congress to receive the same level of engagement so we fully understand the scope, objectives, and risks of any further military action.

"If we keep electing men like Trump, they will keep undermining that foundation, until it finally collapses. One day that may well happen. But on Friday, the Supreme Court said not this day. On this day the presidency is stuffed back into its box. On this day the separation of powers prevails. And on this day the Constitution holds." nytimes.com/2026/02/22/opi…
