Generation of public neoantigens by tumor exposure to IFNg -> tryptophan shortage -> ribosomal frameshifts that make W>F mutations. Cool result from proteomics by @AgamiLab! What other co-translational mods impact anti-tumor T cell responses? 🔗Link below ->

Beautiful work from @DjenetBousbaine and @mfgrp characterizing the immune response to a human skin commensal and its utility as a vaccination platform. Remarkable antibody response kinetics worthy of an entirely new study.

Today we report that an engineered skin bacterium, swabbed gently on the head of a mouse, can unleash a potent antibody response against a pathogen. Could lead to topical vaccines that are applied in a cream. @DjenetBousbaine led the charge... @Nature 1/55

A motivating excerpt: "Creativity comes from hard work. You have to be able to completely devote yourself to the task. When you do so, then your subconscious mind is starved from thinking about anything except the problem." Happy reading: heritageproject.caltech.edu/interviews-upd…

Enjoyed this weekend's reading - an interview with @Eric_Betzig. Had fun learning about the beginnings of super-resolution, his consistency in trying out new ideas, and the shift from analyzing biological snapshots to continuously imaging these dynamic processes. 1/2

Kazuki is an excellent scientist and a kind person. He has a new perspective on how to study the intersection of our microbiome & immunity. This is a great (and early) opportunity to join a lab that’s sure to enrich our understanding of this important field in the coming years.
Kazuki Nagashima@MicrobiomeTcell

The Nagashima lab @MCB_Harvard seeks an ambitious postdoc in immunology, microbiome and diet. Apply here👇 if you want to work on T cell biology in an incredible environment. academicpositions.harvard.edu/postings/13926 @Harvard #immunology #microbiome #postdoc

A significant advance in solving the TCR-antigen prediction problem that demonstrates the power of improving data quality/quantity and models in parallel. The generative model in Fig. 7 is a peek into the future of this field. Incredible work by Binbin, Ethan, and Manjima!

Excited to share our work on TAPIR, a generalizable ML model that can predict TCR-target interaction! T-cell receptors (TCRs) are involved in most diseases, but linking their sequences with targets is an unsolved grand challenge in the field. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Great experience collaborating with an amazing bioengineer @QianY20878657. Putting a TLR7 agonist in special nanoparticles can change the quality of GC response, leading to the generation of antibodies targeting subdominant epitopes (e.g stem of HA). nature.com/articles/s4156…

Check out our study: medrxiv.org/content/10.110… The 2nd dose of BioNTech/Pfizer boosts potent neutralizing antibodies. The first dose generates antibodies similar to those directed to other coronaviruses, which are not neutralizing. ~half of our antibodies neutralize delta.....
