@HadickM @web4O No restrictions on another issuer creating a cloudflare branded stablecoin. Precisely what we do at Bastion. Each one subject to regulator approval. The restriction is on Cloudflare itself as the issuer. Which makes the announcement so confusing.

Cloudflare not announcing their issuing partner is weird. Could it be that it's a partner who is not yet public? Maybe a white label product that someone like a large bank or AM / Circle / Tether are launching and weren't yet ready to announce.

@HadickM @web4O And GENIUS Act generally prohibits companies like Cloudflare from issuing. x.com/CampbellJAusti…

Really hoping @Cloudflare got permission from the SCRC first if they are actually going to be the issuer or this is, you know, illegal. From Genius: "(B) Prohibition.—(i) In general.—A public company that is not predominantly engaged in 1 or more financial activities, and its wholly or majority owned subsidiaries or affiliates, may not issue a payment stablecoin unless the public company obtains a unanimous vote of the Stablecoin Certification Review Committee finding that—"

@web4O For cloudflare? Because it's not their core business to build a bunch of APIS, integrations, and operations for mint/redeem/treasury operations, etc. It's not THAT easy to roll yourself and takes time

This is a big escalation in the sanctions war. The US is expected to expand Russian secondary sanctions from 1,200 entities to 4,500 entities, including banks such as Sberbank and VTB, the country’s largest lenders. 👀👀

@asanwal They bought Stream a while back, subscale Tegus competitor. Ran it as a feature rather than as a product. Tegus ate their lunch. Let's see if the team for gets it right the second time.

Great googly moogly, the @CFPB dropped PART of the final 1033 rule. Restrain yourselves, it is the part about how standard setting organization(s) will be identified. But there might be a few interesting nuggets in it, so time for a live tweet read...

@TobiasRush I'd be surprised if they didn't. Amazon lost the thread when they got hooked on Ad revenue. They've prioritized pushing ads over discoverability and lowest prices. At some point the frog will be boiled and they'll wake up to a competitor that remembers the customer's needs.

Somewhat of a random observation. I had written a prompt a few weeks ago that looked for mentions of a book in some provided text. Then asked ChatGPT to search amazon for the link and provide the name, link and short description. I noticed yesterday that my prompt started getting flaky. I spent some time on it this morning and it is now claiming it can’t search amazon. And specifically calls out robots.txt. I then went to Bard to see if it could do better. It likewise claimed it could not search for specific product pages on Amazon. But I’m nearly certain I could do this just a few weeks ago. Did Amazon update its policy on allowing LLMs to search for products?
