→ @hollyherndon and @matdryhurst will be part of the Vatican's sound-based 2026 Venice Biennale pavilion Twenty-four artists have been selected by the Vatican for the exhibition The Ear is the Eye of the Soul, which will take place across two sites: The Mystical Garden of the Discalced Carmelite in the Cannaregio district and the Santa Maria Ausiliatrice Complex in Castello. “The exhibition takes the form of a sonic prayer, a call to the contemplative act of listening,” a project statement says. Other participants include the musician Patti Smith, the US filmmaker Jim Jarmusch, and the organist Kali Malone. The pavilion is co-organised by @HUObrist, the artistic director at the Serpentine Gallery in London, and the US-based curator and publisher Ben Vickers, who founded the Arts Technologies department at the Serpentine. The Holy See project is also organised in collaboration with Soundwalk Collective, a sound art platform founded in 2001. The curators have positioned the Vatican's 2026 pavilion across two Venetian sites, the Mystical Garden of the Discalced Carmelites in Cannaregio and Santa Maria Ausiliatrice in Castello, for a sound-based homage to Saint Hildegard of Bingen. The Ear is the Eye of the Soul runs from May through November, including artists Brian Eno, FKA Twigs, Patti Smith, and Jim Jarmusch around the medieval Benedictine's legacy as composer, healer, and visionary.

🌵❤️ I see inspiring exhibitions around the world, but rarely find time to share with others. So today, I'm posting photos of the incredible Maurizio Cattelan survey we saw last summer at the Serralves Museum in Porto. Each room in this gorgeous mansion on their campus was devoted to a singular work by Cattelan. Many of you here know Cattelan’s Comedian (aka The Banana). ✨Beyond this iconic/memetic work, Cattlelan reveals himself throughout his oeuvre to be the quintessential conceptual trickster, political commentator, and above all a highly gifted ruminator on the role of Powers and the Sacred. From death to politics to the Pope. ✨His works are chillingly, even painfully beautiful. I was especially blown away by his recreation of  Sistine Chapel, which I must say, I enjoy more than the original because one can actually get up close and examine the magnificence of each painting. I hope you enjoy!
