In discussing key issues needing policy attention, young people highlighted gender inequality, digital safety, data privacy, surveillance & access. .@RachelNjuguna10; Obstetric Violence (OV) is a form of GBV that uniquely affects women. It often occurs during childbirth—a deeply vulnerable moment, when respect and dignity are most needed. The term "OV" sparks debate. It implies intentional harm, which many medical professionals resist. Yet, women’s lived experiences cannot be ignored. Latin America has taken the lead in recognizing OV as a rights issue. Women giving birth in health facilities are owed care, respect & compassion.
