@theJeremyVine Should you be using your phone to record whilst you’re riding a bike Jeremy? Is it one rule for cyclists and one for motorists?
I’ll be reporting this.

@DrScottArthurMP Leith Walk needs to be fixed, sorry is not enough!
English

It's long been clear that the Transport Committee's original plan for Leith Walk was overly ambitious, and those supposed to be at the top of sustainable transport hierarchy paid the price.
The new circulation plan takes this lesson to heart, preventing a repeat of this mistake. However, simply avoiding past errors isn't enough to truly improve Leith Walk. It's encouraging that the Transport Committee is willing to consider the issue.
Living Streets Edinburgh@LivingStreetsEd
New council report confirms that there are no fewer than 11 sections of Leith Walk pavement which don't meet the usual “absolute minimum” width specified for the street by the Council (2.5m). Some 6% of the whole street. bit.ly/4gkV0R1

@CllrChasBooth Yay, just a shame about the local economy and whats best for the residents.
Let's be honest, this is more about what you want than what's best for the locals.

The six-month monitoring report on the #Leith low traffic neighbourhood (#LTN) was published recently. It showed the scheme has been an astonishing success at reducing traffic.
So what's next for the Leith LTN?

@scott_expert Scott the "expert" cannot understand that's not a cycle lane.
English

No difficult spending decisions for LTNs, cycle lanes & other measures to make life a misery for everyone. This cycle lane to nowhere cost over £11K. Plenty of money to waste on vanity schemes creating hazards for cyclists that didn't exist.

Agent P@AgentP22
Edinburgh council has plenty money for LTN's and bike lanes. Not so much for education, early learning or child care services.

Rush hour, busy streets and pavements, this is how a delivery is made to @StarbucksUK by @GrahamsDairy. So much for safe cycling infrastructure @DrScottArthurMP @Edinburgh_CC @cllrcammyday @CllrChasBooth #edinburgh

@DrScottArthurMP Just walk or cycle along Leith Walk to see how well the pavement parking ban is working.
English

This made me smile. I've made a few mistakes on TEC, but working cross-party to deliver Scotland's most comprehensive pavement parking ban isn't one of them.
Lewis Michie@LewisMichie0
Elaine and her guide dog Tessie used to often be forced into walking on a busy Ferry Road to get round vehicles parked on the pavement. But 6 months on from Edinburgh's pavement parking ban coming in, she says the difference is dramatic. On tonight's @STVNews at Six.
English

@Ross_Greer @GlasgowCC Glasgow having the same problem as Edinburgh. Why councils are wasting people's money not putting some bollards? Leith Walk new pavements have been destroyed by trucks and vans parking on them.

@mariaoliviaking @sjamal9 @ross_muller1 @Edinburgh_CC @LivingStreetsEd @CllrScottArthur @coxandcoxuk @yplac_ed Those are the loading bays along Leith Walk, some are on the road but funnily enough it looks like that most of them are on the cycle paths?

English

@LeithBertie @sjamal9 @ross_muller1 @Edinburgh_CC @LivingStreetsEd @CllrScottArthur @coxandcoxuk @yplac_ed They haven’t designed any loading bays onto leith walk unfortunately, just bus bays. There are however side streets that they could park on instead, although they’ve introduced a lot of limitations of where you can turn off/onto Leith Walk as well unfortunately.

Tell me Edinburgh doesn’t protect active travellers with bollards without telling me Edinburgh doesn’t protect active travellers with bollards. Problem on L.Walk evident for years. Will @Edinburgh_CC and its leaders act? @LivingStreetsEd @CllrScottArthur @coxandcoxuk @yplac_ed

@sjamal9 @ross_muller1 @Edinburgh_CC @LivingStreetsEd @CllrScottArthur @coxandcoxuk @yplac_ed Loading bays?
English

@ross_muller1 @Edinburgh_CC @LivingStreetsEd @CllrScottArthur @coxandcoxuk @yplac_ed Looks like they were there for a reason where else would they park?
English

@ross_muller1 @Edinburgh_CC @LivingStreetsEd @CllrScottArthur @coxandcoxuk @yplac_ed They don't care.
English

@ross_muller1 @BordersBuses @CllrScottArthur @DodgyDriversUK @SustransScot @LivingStreetsEd The entry to the well praised state of the art CCWEL at Charlotte Square is used by coach buses to park on double yellows, every day no enforcement.
English

Edinburgh really has a long way to go to ensure road safety for all. Zero blind spot checks from @BordersBuses driver. Bridges 28/6/24 16:30 #CrushZone @CllrScottArthur @DodgyDriversUK @SustransScot @LivingStreetsEd
English

@EdinReporter @Edinburgh_CC @CllrScottArthur @SpokesLothian No enforcement at Charlotte Square either where the entry to the cycle path is usually blocked by coach buses.

Not much point winning all these awards @Edinburgh_CC when there is no enforcement of pavement parking, on cycleway parking or indeed 20mph in the city centre - is there? @CllrScottArthur @SpokesLothian
