@cmkusher You have to remeber that American Football is bigger and more complex than other team sports, for example NFL teams have 53 man rosters, usually 10-12 coaches, and roughly 20-30 support staff. Then there is the NFL's broadcast crews which are usually 150-200 people + 7 referees

American's are the weirdest. I was just listening to an NFL podcast and the hosts were going on and on about the upcoming NFL game in Melbourne. They were opining that the teams may not be able to stay close to the ground, there may not be ovals for the teams to practice on and whether the city even has big enough hotels with enough rooms for the teams to work out of. Not even an acknowledgement the city hosts a grand slam tennis even and an F1 Grand Prix each year.
Americans truly have absolutely no idea of the world outside of their country.

I read Mistborn because so many love it. Sanderson's species of magic is non-mysterious. It's entirely calculable and comprehensible. There's no "beyond" that we struggle to grasp. Whether fantasy or not, I always want to sense that I'm standing in awe at the edge of infinity.

First thing I was curious about is the crossbow.
Most sources seem to indicate they came into use in Europe around the 10th to 11th century.
Ok, some sources claim the picts had them.
Can't find reliable sources on that at all. It is more like conjecture.

@Grand_DM For many people (and possibly the majority) the background lore of a games setting is the reason they like that game, and if they published it seperately from the game rules, none of the people who think that way would buy the game rules or play the game, so it incentivizes sales
