@pgd216 @iPulpNFTs @CashoutKingJJ Why is a +600 mathematically better than +1000, if you could find breakeven lines then the +1000 line returns 10000 in 11 attempts so a 91% yield and the +600 returns 600 over 7 attempts returns a 85% yield, it just becomes a question of bankroll and house as to how high to go

@MATTHEWFOULKES @iPulpNFTs @CashoutKingJJ This is purely EV. The mathematical best way to maximize EV is a 3-leg parlay assuming (50/50 or -110 odds) which would come to +600

@iPulpNFTs @CashoutKingJJ A proper range is between +200 to +500 if we’re talking purely EV. I agree it’s different based on personal risk tolerance.

@jhorsewhisperer Your Kelly staking had members take a 90U downswing tho. Maybe too aggressive? I wonder how many members still kept the same unit size after that

@secretbettin @jhorsewhisperer A fraction of kelly is a much more reasonable approach, atleast once you’ve reached a bankroll threshold in which losing a significant portion of it would be damaging.

@jhorsewhisperer Kelly is mathematically optimal in theory, but brutal in practice. Most people are inexperienced in determining their value and often overestimate it. It's like giving a beginner the drive of a super fast sports car

The growth of tcgs in the last 5 years isn’t because people love playing these games, it’s because the studios worked out how to use gambling industry techniques to farm their customers at a much higher rate. These card company’s are often morally equivalent to casinos or bookies

My heart was pounding. Absolutely pounding. And the spot was so routine. Folds to me, I limp 77 in the small blind, big blind is super capable. I’m hoping he raises so I can 3bet. He checks. Pot: 3BB Flop: K-7-8 rainbow I lead flop for 2 BB, he tanks and cuts out raising chips, the raise is to 6BB, I just call. Pot: 15BB Turn: J Completes T-9 but otherwise I’m nutted here. I check in flow, he checks back. I 100% have the best hand. River: 3 I lead river for 5BB, he tanks for what seems like an eternity, he is staring me down, I fold my arms across my chest and I can feel my heart absolutely pounding. He leans in to check my neck, okay Alex Foxen, chill man, this is a nightly at Derby, not the feature table at the Main Event. lol We aren’t in the money. We aren’t even close. Based on the action I am nutted here, he never has KK, JJ, best he could have is two pair which I have crushed. No chance he checks back T-9 on the turn. I’m praying he raises, he finally folds. Why does my adrenaline spike in these spots sometimes?

@MattBartlettVE 6k is probably too much below market, but I could probably help you locate/work something out with someone (or I know a guy who knows a guy) if you can come up a bit? Or cash + trade (which some cards did)

@bkp2525 Feels crazy, but with 10% rake and 3x open size TT becomes 0 EV. It gets even crazy with a 4x open size

@ns14trader Nah youre being too hard on yourself. I wouldn’t have considered folding TT before studying it. And honestly I still wouldn’t. But my reason for opening is different now.

@avgDonk Maybe, great minds think alike. He would say something like this lol. When I told the table they looked at me crazy. The thing is, to play this game you have to be a little crazy.

Betting in shops on golf coupons close to first tee can be a mathematical juggling act, managing cuts and equity. So some tips: I went in to Betfred this morning and got 13 players ✅1 was held (Bob Mac) ❌12 were cut 9 were still +EV 4 became -EV 13 bets averaged 104% EV. If I removed the -EV (and specifically Nicolai cut from 70/1 to 40/1) they averaged 108% EV. I decided to take them all, that’s a personal risk (and time vs quality) preference. When faced with a situation where 12 of 13 bets are cut it can feel daunting (and we very often get complaints about this at BB) but the bigger picture is a group of mostly cut bets can still be +EV as a collective.
