Magic Eden was founded as an NFT marketplace in a time when this place was fun to spend time in.
It is now pivoting to a gambling platform and leaving those of us who still love NFTs without an additional market option.
It is okay to be upset by this. I, personally, am upset by this.
Yes, they are a business and they are making a business decision.
However, this highlights how rampant gambling has encompassed our industry. Nobody can be successful without being a rampant speculative vehicle because that's where all the money got dragged to.
This is incredibly sad news for builders and users who want crypto infrastructure, not just another online casino.
It can be the right business decision and still highlight what is wrong with our industry at the same time.
