Τόσες μέρες με κατηγορούν ότι με την κριτική μου προσπαθώ δήθεν να εμποδίσω τους εισαγγελείς να μας ελέγξουν για τον ΟΠΕΚΕΠΕ κλπ από χθες το βράδι όμως έχει συμβεί το εξής: η @ZoeKonstant πήγε στην Επιθεώρηση Εργασίας για να απολογηθεί για τις κατηγορίες της εργαζομένης της εναντίον της ότι την είχε απλήρωτη, ότι της έκανε bullying κλπ. Πήγε αφού είχε προηγουμένως ζητήσει και λάβει ένα σωρό αναβολές. Τελικά τί έκανε; Έκανε μήνυση στην επιθεωρητή που την ελέγχει, τον οποίο και συνέλαβαν, ενώ ο ίδιος δεν μπορεί να της κάνει μήνυση καθώς αυτή καλύπτεται από την βουλευτική ασυλία την οποία κατά τα άλλα καταγγέλλει….και ερωτώ: η μήνυση στον ελεγκτή της δεν γίνεται για να τον παρεμποδίσει από το να την ελέγξει; Ή εδώ όλα είναι καλά για το Κράτος Δικαίου ;

The same day the EU once again fails to use its leverage to slow Israel, Von der Leyen states: “We must succeed in completing the European continent so that it is not shaped by Russian, Turkish, or Chinese influence.” Turkey is, for the first time, placed in the same category as Russia and China: a systemic threat, precisely as an imperialist war, boosted by religious fanaticism, rages on the other side of the Mediterranean. And this happens at the very moment Netanyahu is escalating his campaign against Turkey. How Turkey can be seen as a greater threat than Israel by the majority of Europeans is a mystery. This is liberal nationalism laying bare its entrenchment and its clash-of-civilizations logic.

There is only one occupier on the island of Cyprus, and that is the Greeks in Southern Cyprus!
We Turks conquered the island of Cyprus from the Venetians, and when we took control of Cyprus, there wasn’t a single Greek living on the island. In fact, Cyprus has never been Greek territory even once in history.
The Greeks migrated to Cyprus during Ottoman rule and then began claiming rights over it.
We leased the island of Cyprus to the British, and the British used World War I as an excuse to seize it.
After that, you Greeks, between 1963 and 1974, started massacring innocent Turkish civilians on the island with the EOKA terrorist organization.
And because Turkey has guarantor rights over the island as per international treaties, it intervened in accordance with those agreements and rescued the innocent Turkish civilians from the hands of the barbarians.
Now you’ve learned the truth — are you still going to keep crying?

Türkiye, a guarantor power for the island of Cyprus, lawfully intervened to prevent the Greek Cypriot community of the island from ethnically cleansing the Turkish Cypriot community of the island during a Greece-backed coup attempt. Many insincere narrative spinning Greek Cypriots and Greeks always fail to mention their actions that resulted in Türkiye having to launch the Cyprus Peace Operation. If the operation wasn’t launched, there probably wouldn’t be any Turkish Cypriots left on the island and if by chance a couple survived they would be called Cypriot Muslims most likely. Unfortunately the far-right mindset and Enosis ideology that led to the 1963 Bloody Christmas Massacre and the ethnic cleansing events of 1974 still remain today. Greek Cypriots have had multiple chances to unify the island throughout the half century of its division. But their maximalist demands, rejection of the UN’s Annan plan and failure to even view Turkish Cypriots as equal owners of the island have stymied all past diplomatic efforts. Unfortunately their EU membership has compounded the problem. While they are basically subsidized - Turkish Cypriots live under embargo and the EU expects healthy negotiations while there is such great inequality. The presence of Turkish troops on the island are the only security guarantee Turkish Cypriots have.

I have just been informed by the Ambassador of the United States to Cyprus @USAmbCy that, for the first time, a Cypriot candidate has been accepted to the US Naval Academy, @NavalAcademy
This is both a symbolic and a substantive milestone. It reflects the growing depth of relations between the Republic of Cyprus and the United States and underscores our shared commitment to strengthening cooperation in security and defence — not only at the institutional level, but also through the development of the next generation of leaders.

Von der Leyen’s Turkey remarks are pretty shocking because they are really unnecessary at a juncture where Ankara is seeking to deepen its strategic ties with the continent.
Since 2023, Ankara pivoted towards the West.

Dear @vonderleyen — it’s Turkish influence that helps keep you safe from adversaries like Russia and China. Without it, your position would be considerably weaker. Some sense of reality would go a long way in representing European interests as you are supposed to.

NEW: The European Commission "clarified" comments by Ursula von der Leyen about Türkiye:
Türkiye’s mention was a recognition of its geopolitical clout, size and ambitions not least in the Western Balkans, and not meant as a comparison with any other country.
The EU unquestionably sees Türkiye as “an important partner… economically and politically,” especially in connectivity and migration.
It is also “an important NATO ally and EU candidate country,” making it a key partner for dialogue.

In a recent speech, @EU_Commission Pres. @vonderleyen portrayed 🇹🇷 as influenting Europe along with 🇷🇺🇨🇳. It's totally inconsistent with recurrent signals for stronger cooperation on security & defense and it is a geopolitically flawed analysis.
