Stationing federal troops outside of our polls is illegal and goes against the ideals behind the foundation of our country. Let’s be clear: state and local officials have ensured our elections are safe and reliable throughout history. We need to stop Donald Trump from trying to use the military to scare law-abiding Americans for his own political gain – and I’m joining my colleagues to introduce legislation to do just that.

Your reminder for the umpteenth time the US does not have one election. It has several thousand concurrently conducted across counties and municipal jurisdictions that are aggregated at the state level. Well over nine out of ten ballots are cast on actual paper. Which are audited for accuracy. I'm super duper looking forward to Thursday night and beyond.

Jack Smith’s team ignored investigative protocols and accessed White House texts including messages to and from 44 Members of Congress. Yet another blatant example of Biden’s DOJ weaponization. No one should be shocked — just outraged.
Chuck Grassley@ChuckGrassley

I received records frm DOJ confirming Jack Smith's investigative team reviewed the contents of text msgs sent by 44 MEMBERS OF CONGRESS Im 1 of the 44   Im alerting my colleagues who were impacted and will release the records w Sen Johnson so American ppl can see the evidence

For anyone excited by the latest (rehashed) fan fiction that Maduro helped rig tabulators for the 2020 election... A reminder that Georgia has paper ballots. You can't hack paper. And it counted those paper ballots 3 times. Once by hand. Each count yielded the same result.

HUGE: President Trump is allegedly planning to announce that both Senators from Georgia, Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock are ILLEGITIMATE due to election fraud, per sources from @DC_Reporter This could be massive.

No arrest quota is worth a life. Reports that senior ICE officials are blaming pressure from the Trump Administration for recent deadly reinforcements should alarm every American. I have said it before: federal power does not excuse secrecy, intimidation, or abuse. ICE must be held accountable, and Congress must be able to conduct real oversight. Families deserve due process. Communities deserve safety. No agency should be allowed to operate like the rules do not apply. thedailybeast.com/top-ice-offici…

There's a very common playbook that leaders use when they fear that they or their party are going to lose an election. So, here are some of the steps in that authoritarian playbook that you should look out for: 1⃣ Install loyalists to key positions around the elections. The president, unlike his first term, has really put in deep loyalists across the government; in the attorney general’s office, in charge of elections and election security. Putting in people who are more loyal to him than they are to the Constitution and who will do whatever he says. 2⃣ Sow doubt in our election system. The president has been doing this since 2020. He’s talking falsely about how our elections were rigged in 2020. He’s been talking about how the elections we just had in Los Angeles were rigged. He said in the State of the Union this year that if he and his party don't win in November, then the 2026 are rigged. The president has come out against mail-in voting and absentee voting. The president is already starting to do this by suing states across the country, including Michigan, for their voter rolls. He has particularly taken a sharp look at the city of Detroit and in Wayne County. This is all part of a bigger play to sow doubt into the efficacy of our elections. 3⃣ Suggest that there is a crisis threatening our elections. This is all about amping up the stories and the coverage and the tweets about how we are actually in an emergency. That our elections are so unsafe, so problematic, that the president has to declare some sort of emergency. 4⃣ Respond to the perceived threat. Once you've created an emergency and you’ve said our elections are under threat, now the head of state has to respond to that emergency. Maybe they send the uniform military; maybe they send the federal law enforcement; maybe they feel the need to be on location at polling places. Maybe now they are seizing ballots and voting machines. 5⃣ If none of that works and the elections don't go the way of the leader, completely question the results. Sue to try and have them overturned. We lived through this in 2020, and as someone who, on January 6, barricaded herself in her own office, we’ve seen that President Trump does not accept the results of elections that he loses.

Secretary Rubio’s announcement that he will dismantle the International Criminal Court is reckless and dangerous. It undermines the rule of law, weakens global accountability, and turns America's back on the values we claim to champion.

At a time when too many choose to look away, @RepRoKhanna chose to bear witness— to the occupation, settler violence, and suffering of Palestinians in the West Bank. I look forward to working with him to call for accountability, an end to the violence, and a future built on justice, equality, and genuine reconciliation for both Palestinians and Israelis. Here is a picture of @RoKhanna in Hebron. The mayor of Hebron is a Palestinian named Tayseer Abu Sneineh. In 1980, he murdered 6 people, including 2 Americans. I wonder if Ro ever brought that up.

🔥HOLY SHIT🔥 The MSM are reporting that Trump’s address to the nation on Thursday is about FOREIGN INFLUENCE IN THE 2020 ELECTION! This is related to the raid in Fulton County!!! Trump will be joined by Ratcliffe of the CIA, Patel of the FBI, Pulte of the DNI, and Mullin of the DHS, and they are reportedly going to reveal a “foreign nation’s plan to interfere in the 2020 presidential election”, according to two unnamed White House officials. My fellow Americans, it is time. Things are about to get VERY interesting.

Let's not lose our grip on the facts - instead of recriminations and accusations - just the facts. 1) Congressman @RoKhanna was offered to coordinate his visit with the State of Israel - this goes beyond notifying of his presence in the country. He was offered in-depth coordination of his schedule to avoid misunderstandings, and he chose to ignore that offer. He also chose not to coordinate his visit with the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem. 2) He chose to conduct his visit accompanied by Palestinian activists, and, for some reason, @nytimes journalists with cameras at the ready. With him was also a person affiliated with @jstreet, an organization that actively lobbies against the government of Israel on Capitol Hill. 3) Mr. Khanna and his entourage entered what was believed to be a closed military zone without permission. The military had no prior knowledge of him going there, due to his refusal to coordinate with them. The vehicle they stopped was unknown to them and therefore provoked suspicion. The moment details of the Congressman's identity were cleared, he was free to go. At no point was the congressman, or any member of his party, threatened by the soldiers, or civilians bearing arms. 4) To add insult to injury - the Congressman used this instance as an opportunity to tout "genocide" and "apartheid" libels to the press, propelling himself to the center of yet another anti-Israel media frenzy. The facts don't lie - this was a cheap, anticipated provocation, that could, and should have been avoided. 5) Calling me a liar won’t change the facts. I’d be happy to host Congressman Khanna at our embassy for an in-depth conversation on his grievances regarding Israel.

It is difficult to believe that Lindsey Graham is no longer here with us – that we won’t run into him at a meeting today, or share a joke with him at this afternoon’s vote. The halls of the Senate already feel empty without him. And I know that I am not alone in that feeling.
