Power, and corruption trump ideology, no pun intended. Like Orbán, like Trump, Netanyahu looks out for himself first and foremost. Like them, you may agree with some of their actions and some may be in the national interest, but it’s always about themselves and their power first.
Jay Nordlinger@jaynordlinger

Here is something weird: Are we to care about this more than the Netanyahu government does? Netanyahu is an ardent backer of Orbán -- who is the ally of Iran, Russia, and China. I'm not sure what to say, to be perfectly honest. Perhaps others can fill in. washingtonpost.com/world/2026/04/…

This President is out of control. He is threatening to wipe out an entire civilization and commit war crimes. Since the start of this war in Iran, he has provided no plan, no strategy, and no transparency, just erratic decision-making that is putting American servicemembers, our country and innocent civilians in danger. Speaker Johnson needs to bring the House back immediately so we can vote to end this war. Enough is enough.

The United States of America must always be prepared to use overwhelming military force when necessary to defend our national security interests and protect Americans at home and abroad. And, a President should have the latitude to make decisions to that end, but only to the extent that those decisions are also consistent with the inherent authority of a Commander-in-Chief under the U. S. Constitution and the provisions of the War Powers Resolution. To date, I have supported the President’s decisions relating to the Iranian conflict because they were consistent with these authorities and the ultimate goal of protecting national security interests. At the same time, what sets America apart is not only our strength, but how we use it. Our nation has always conducted military operations for just causes and through just and moral means. This must continue in the future; otherwise we forfeit our legitimacy to lead the world. So, let me be clear: I do not support the destruction of a "whole civilization." That is not who we are, and it is not consistent with the principles that have long guided America.  I have and will continue to support a strong national defense—one that is focused, disciplined, and firmly rooted in protecting the safety and security of the American people. But, how we protect the lives of the innocent is just as important as how we engage the enemy. America is great because America is good.

Most certainly not what I voted for or intended for when I donated 12.8 bitcoin to Trump's team. I tried, I put my energy behind a wrecking ball to drain the swamp, to stop war, my intentions were good, if not naive and childish to think after 65 years the corrupt american political system could be dismantled. I am left with the decision to never again support political ambitions of anyone, I distrust all professional politicians and the toilet bowl they created and encourage as an incubator for professional politicians. I am and shall seek out and align with those who are freedom fighters, who believe in peace, in humanity, in the the right for others to live freely, openly, and creatively as communities who are not repressed or oppressed by any government or body. I build around me a massive community of champions, of hero's, those who choose to use their voice irrespective of the attacks that come from speaking the truth for the betterment of humanity. Who wants to join? The Right Thing to Do is the Right Thin, irrespective of how convenient it may or may not be. Stand up, Voice up, Man up; this is your defining moment we should all be judged on. Do I / you choose to; 'go along to get along', or 'fight back against insanity, traps, corruption, enslavement, oppression, surveilance and stand up like a man and fight those that enslave humanty" Our species requires it of you.

🚨🚨WAR CRIME ALERT!!🚨🚨- Trump on Iran: "A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. The definition of genocide is destroying an entire civilization/people! Trump literally sounds like an unhinged super villain from a Marvel comic movie. This IS NOT WHAT WE VOTED FOR!!!

I will admit it. I LOVED Trump unhinged when he was on the campaign trail. He was outspoken, politically incorrect and fearless in his brutality. And I loved it. In the wake of so much political correctness, it was refreshing to see a man who didn't care what people thought. He was a breath of fresh air. He wasn't a politician and that's what I loved about him. The problem is, our chickens have come home to roots. We said, "let Trump be Trump." Now here we are. On the brink of nuclear war. Pray for America. We did this to ourselves. And to the world.

Foreign interference is clear. The Brusselians are trying to weaken Hungary, our economy, and our energy security. Hungary’s patriotic government will not let them. For us, the Hungarian people and Hungarian families come first. Always. 🇭🇺

🇪🇺 NATO was built on "all for one." Right now it's more like "you got this, bro." The U.S. funds, arms, and basically carries a 32-country alliance. The whole idea since 1949 was simple. If one member fights, everyone shows up. Fast forward to now... The U.S. steps into a conflict and suddenly the group chat goes silent. 🇫🇷 France blocks weapons flights over its territory. Trump calls them out. They shrug. 🇮🇹 Italy refuses landing rights for U.S. bombers. Some planes reportedly turned back mid-route. 🇪🇸 Spain shuts its airspace and locks both bases. Doors closed. 🇵🇱 Poland refuses to send Patriot batteries. 🇬🇧 The UK, the ride-or-die ally, goes on record: "This is not our war." 🇩🇪 Germany calls the whole operation illegal while hosting the largest U.S. base in Europe. 🇦🇺 Australia steps back. 🇨🇦 Canada doesn't even show up. And that’s when it hits… These aren't random countries. This is the core of the alliance. Their reasoning is simple enough: "You didn't consult us. You started it." For years Trump kept saying NATO only works when it's convenient. Right now that argument is walking on its own two feet. 32 countries. One in the fight. The rest watching from the sidelines. 🇺🇸🇮🇷 The last 48 hours to prevent catastrophe... Axios reports a two-phase deal is being negotiated through Pakistani, Egyptian, and Turkish mediators, plus direct text messages between Witkoff and Iran's FM Araghchi. Phase one: a 45-day ceasefire. Phase two: permanent end to the war. Mediators say fully reopening Hormuz and resolving the uranium question can only happen in the final deal, not upfront. Iran won't surrender its two biggest bargaining chips for a temporary pause. The core problem: Iran doesn't trust this won't be another Gaza. A ceasefire on paper that Israel ignores whenever it wants. Tehran wants guarantees the bombing actually stops and doesn't restart in 45 days. Given Israel's track record of striking through every previous diplomatic window, that fear isn't irrational. Trump told Axios directly: "There is a good chance, but if they don't make a deal, I am blowing up everything over there." The operational plan for a massive strike on Iranian civilian infrastructure is ready to go. Iran has promised to retaliate against Gulf oil and water facilities if it happens. Mediators are warning Tehran this is the last real chance. Trump extended his deadline by 20 hours to Tuesday 8PM ET. That's either a sign negotiations are progressing or one final pause before the most destructive phase of the war begins. Source: Axios
