@evitaduffy_1 Not at the airport 2+ hrs before boarding? 15 minute delay is annoying but not long enough to "nearly miss flight" No precheck/global entry? Clear alone doesn't dodge the back-scatter machines Just saying, even if TSA is annoying, doesn't seem like they are really at fault.

I nearly missed my flight this morning after the TSA made me wait 15 minutes for a pat-down because I’m pregnant and didn’t feel like getting radiation exposure from their body scanner. The agents were passive-aggressive, rude, and tried to pressure me and another pregnant woman into just walking through the scanner because it’s “safe.” After finally getting the absurdly invasive pat-down, I barely made my flight. All this for an unconstitutional agency that isn’t even good at its job. Perhaps things would have gone more smoothly if I’d handed over my biometric data to a random private company (CLEAR). Then I could enjoy the special privilege of waiting in a shorter line to be treated like a terrorist in my own country. Is this freedom? Travel, brought to you by George Orwell—and the privilege of convenience based solely on your willingness to surrender biometric data and submit to radiation exposure? The “golden age of transportation” cannot begin until the TSA is gone.

@SenRonJohnson ... the US has a spending problem, that is clear ... also has a swamp problem ... in so far as, in your CNN interview, you said this (budget) takes time. Congress has been in session since Jan 3 and look at the number of bills submitted for signature. Pitiful.

@ShirleySmbyrd1 @TravelGov @StateDept If curious, read the USCIS immigration forms ... I-130, I-129F, I-751, N-400 .... my wife is a legal immigrant, and if you intend to come (and stay), there are considerable #s of do's and don't clearly listed in the questions of these forms.

@David_J_Bier Please, please, please start using correct terminology ... not hyperbole. Migrants (& migrant visas) are different than Immigrants (& immigrant visas). Lumping all of them together into a single bucket does a disservice. Confusion WILL remain until we start using correct terms.

Absurd. Wealthy, skilled people with other options will not settle in a country where their lives can be ruined for a speeding ticket or operating an illegal lemonade stand. No care for public safety or the national interest. It’s not what US immigration law says either.

@DawnsEcho @amuse As someone that has a legal immigrant wife, I can say from first-hand experience that this process sucks & is very broken. Took ~2yrs to get here here as a fiance, & when we started the process, we chose the fiance route because at that time, spousal wasn't being processed.

@amuse I’m don’t believe this. Spouses get Visas way more easily, especially if married to a military member. Plus Germany is not a problematic country.

@RemoteOK - your website is fundimentally broken. Wife tried to create an account there and was told her "username" had to be an email, email address (gmail) was too long, making a new email account that the account (gmail with .'s) was invalid. Please fix your page registration

@USCIS @DHSgov 537 days so far in this "legal process" and now, USCIS has been sitting on the approved paperwork now for 70 days without sending it to the next department. Ludicrous

A few items from today ... car was frosted over (not that this will get any sympathy from my friends in Ohio or PA). Lunch was a German version of a TV dinner ... actually not bad at all ... brown sauce had a distinct black pepper taste and was awesome on the potatoes.

Heard the beef (Boeuf) Bourguignon is special here ... and of course comes with spätzle which I have not eaten enough of this trip ... along with a good "Weiss"-beer and a small local wine ... a very fine dinner... facebook.com/10000774543425…
