@VinnySuperstarr @BobFromAccounts @DevonSameday It’s illegal in the UK to idle. Not here to argue just stating facts. Doesn’t stop parents sitting outside dance/gymnastics classes and idling for the whole hour. Bonkers in my eyes but I see it often.
English

@BobFromAccounts @DevonSameday You obviously came here to argue.
1. People can legally do what they like
2. It’s better all round to leave on for short periods rather than stop and start which is worse for all around
3. Your children must be also proud of having a mother who likes to argue

@UK_Compounder I’m in North Somerset, our council tax is increasing 8.9% and we’ve been told to expect deteriorating services. Apparently 92% of council tax is spent on adult and child social care. That is why services are crap but the council needs more money.
English

My tax bill for the month in the UK 🇬🇧 £3,522.54
Breakdown.
£2,252.66 PAYE
£332.55 NIC
£419 Council tax
£18.33 Vehicle tax
Plus £500 VAT (in my approximate monthly spend)
Not including the various duties we pay on certain products also such as fuel.
In return, I have to fight for a hospital appointment, the roads are strewn with potholes, schools dont teach adult life skills, the council don't cut the grass in public areas so I have to...
But don't worry, the police are on hand to respond to Facebook "offences" and we get to provide financial aid to some questionable causes!
Taxed to oblivion, for a poor return...

@anon_opin I believe Peter Benchley, the author of the book that the film was based on spent many years campaigning for sharks.
English

@RobGMacfarlane @tobycarvery This is happening all over the country, admittedly not always on such magnificent trees. Landowners and councils are scared of liability so they remove trees that take 100s of years to be replaces but a single day to kill.
English

@pseuderman @anon_opin Or only be allowed to be used between 11:00 and 13:00, not at 6am on your way to work FFS

@anon_opin All super noisy cars/bikes should be banned. Joy for the people in car/bike, pain for the 1000s of people they drive past

@ClareMoody4PCC a typical day outside Hutton Primary at collection time. I have contacted our local PCSO who said they don’t have the resources to make a visit. Do you think you could find resources for an occasional visit to remind drivers of the rules? @BlatantWatch

@BurnleyOfficial @MatchWornShirt Genuine question. How is Edward’s shirt for sale when he gave it away at the end of the game?
English

Shirts worn in last night's victory are now available for auction in partnership with @MatchWornShirt 👕

@Ian_Brooker @paulpowlesland Never ask a barber if you need a haircut
English

@paulpowlesland My theory on this (with no evidence, after all this is social media!) is that its driven by the tree felling companies who convince council officials that there is an absolute safety requirement, and to do it on the quiet.
English

Another example of a local authority (this time the London Borough of Hackney) failing in their duty as guardian of trees in their area.
These trees were some of the only greenery on the street & were protected by Tree Preservation Orders. The council removed the TPO’s with no consultation with residents & with no reason given for their removal. When the felling started, local residents contacted their councillors, but were told that nothing could be done. When residents stood on the pavement (as they were legally entitled to do, as no Highways Closure Order was in place), the cowboy tree fellers continued to fell the tree over their heads & neither the council nor the police intervened to stop this obviously dangerous breach of health and safety.
Shame on the synagogue involved for unnecessarily destroying these wonderful trees & shame on @hackneycouncil for letting them do it.
Haringey Tree Protectors@JustPlaneNews
SHOCKING WORK @hackneycouncil allowing a no of mature trees to be felled at Synagogue, Lordship Rd, Hackney. Reason: fence and car needs? Unjustified in a nature crisis. Keith Archer Tree 'Care' also cutting with people under them. @paulpowlesland @HackneyAbbott @treeruss

@ldmikebell @NStravel_roads these photos were taken at 3:20 today in Hutton at school closing time. One car on zig zags and two on solid white line and blocking the pavement. How do we request some enforcement? This behaviour is typical of school opening and closing time.

Hey @asda any chance you could look at creating more cycle parking at your Weston super Mare store? The stand is often full with additional bikes locked to the trolley sheds. Plus the ones that you do have are too close to the wall which makes them difficult to use. Thanks 🤞

@LarryClaret1 @juskeeprunnin @BurnleyOfficial @skytv @SkySports Well, seeing the terraces makes me home sick #UTC
English

@juskeeprunnin @BurnleyOfficial @skytv @SkySports The majority maybe, but does that mean you ignore the rest, or maybe even better looking terraced housing? How about better views? Do they always have to show a dirty backstreet? I’m surprised there wasn’t a chimney on show and someone with 3 teeth like usual.
English

@NStravel_roads This is not a one off issue there are always cars parked on the pavement here often all four wheels on the pavement. It’s a very hostile road for pedestrians. Thanks
English

Hi @NStravel_roads how do we go about requesting some parking enforcement? I can’t find anything on your website. Oldmixon Rd, currently the only road in and out of Hutton 40mph, pavement only on one side, pedestrians having to walk in the road due to cars parked on the pavement.
