Reusability on Falcon and smart dispenser engineering have slashed the cost per kilogram to low Earth orbit (LEO) and boosted annual launch slots. @elonmusk Have you guys ever done internal models of how smoothly traffic would flow if all cars were following FSD rules for things like acceleration/braking, following distance and merging? These seem to be where a large part of traffic delays begin.

And it only gets better from here. Tesla is still on track to launch autonomous ride hailing in Austin in June and roll out to many cities in America by the end of this year. The threshold is achieving safety far in excess of the average human driver. Ultimately, autonomous cars will be >1,000% safer than human-driven cars.

my old man worked for ford motor company. at one point he pitched an idea to management, through the Good Idea Fairy pipeline they had set up, for a new kind of car - one that used electric motors in each wheel hub powered by a conventional engine driving a generator. the electric motors would be miniaturized versions of the motors diesel electric trains have been using for decades - variable torque, frequency controlled motors. Motors that can vary their torque based on the frequency of the AC waveform they're provided. This is how modern diesel-electric trains (diesel engines powering generators powering electric motors) are able to generate the massive torques required to get an entire freight train up to speed. They ignored him. So every time I see a Tesla out-towing an ICE vehicle I'm like "yeah, no shit... but you don't need the heavy ass highly flammable battery pack to do that, either, asshole."

So we're doing this again, huh? Okay. As I've said, Tesla Plaid's are astonishingly quick, but that's about it. How fast does the Plaid lap the Nürburgring? It holds the production EV record at 7:25.231. How about that Ferrari SF90? The Ferrari SF90 did it in 6:57.

We have some red shoulder hawks and owls that love swooping through our oaks where we're located on the east coast of central Florida. I'm working on building up a pesticide free garden and would like to put up some purple martin houses. Any advice on protecting them from the raptors?
