At @EWRairport for what was a noon @united flight, rescheduled this morning to 2:30. It’s 3:15 and we are sitting on the tarmac while carry on bags are loaded into cargo. Simple math, United. You knew there was room for only 40 bags. Why no proactive gate checking? Inexcusable.

Hey @getspectrum, thanks for confirming the 101 reasons I had for canceling my service today by making that process painful, insulting and ridiculous. The 34 minute call ended with your surly CSA saying “I hope you have the day you deserve.” I wished her the same.

Make sure you know what you're retiring to. This was a hard post to write. I almost didn't write it in fact. I've started and trashed this story many times. But I believe there are important lessons in this story we can learn from. Warning: this does not have a happy ending.

@0liviajulianna I went to high school and college in the 80s, so mostly handwritten or typewriter. Typically we were told how many pages, not words. Formal reports like term papers were always typed and we were told margin size and double or single spaced. That basically gets you to word count.

Okay Gen-X’rs I have a question. When you were in school and you got a report, did your teachers say it was suppose to be X amount of hand written pages? Did they say words? Like “must be 300 words” and you hand wrote it? Did you count word by word when you did?
