@Midnight_Lost @cinnamontoastk Literally none. Sony has basically said in the past you don't own your games you just pay for permission to play their games that they can take away from you whenever they want

@EndymionYT Inevitable, but too soon. Especially after their own debacle with the movies. Sony, and other digital storefronts, need to give some kind of guarantee our digital libraries will be protected.

@EndymionYT People point out Steam does only digital but the difference is you have a lot more freedom over your files. You can put Steam games on an sd card. Also Steam doesn’t yank people’s stuff claiming their license ran out.

@JayObernolte At least be honest, this has nothing to do with keeping the children safe, otherwise you and the rest of the House would be after those involved in the Epstein scandal like bloodhounds. No, this is purely about censorship and control and selling our personal data.

Tonight the House passed the Kids Internet and Digital Safety Act on a bipartisan vote, which will help keep children and teens safe online. As a parent, I believe families should have the tools they need to protect their kids from online exploitation, addictive design features, financial scams, illegal products, inappropriate content, and emerging risks from AI chatbots. This bill strengthens protections for minors, empowers parents, updates children’s privacy laws for the modern internet, and holds online platforms accountable. republicans-energycommerce.house.gov/posts/e-and-c-…

PASSED: the KIDS Act requires age verification on obscene websites, sets nationwide standards enforced by the FTC, and empowers parents, while letting states pass even stronger child protections. Thank you @RepGuthrie!

For years, Congress has worked to find 21st century solutions to the real dangers that children and teens face online, and the bipartisan KIDS Act offers a major remedy to these problems. This legislation represents an important step forward in Congress’ effort to protect children online and hold big tech accountable, while also empowering parents and protecting free speech. I commend Chairman Guthrie for working across the aisle to get this done, and we look forward to working with our Senate counterparts to ensure these essential protections for our children become law.

Tonight, the House passed @HouseCommerce's bipartisan KIDS Act! This is a major step toward a safer online world for kids, making safety the default, giving parents more tools to protect their children and teens, and holding Big Tech accountable.

@juliecbarrett KIDS Act is all bullshit anyways, it's not about protecting the kids, it's about control and handing out our personal information to big tech companies.

Better than I predicted, but the KIDS Act still passed the House. Here are the 32 Republicans and 89 Democrats that voted against massive data collection and surveillance of American children and citizens. 🙏🏼🇺🇸 My prediction that KIDS Act stalls in the Senate stands. They will hold out for KOSA and duty of care.

Tonight, the House passed the Kids Internet and Digital Safety Act with strong bipartisan support. As a father of two, I know parents—not Big Tech—should be in the driver’s seat when it comes to protecting our kids online. Families deserve real tools to shield children from online predators, addictive algorithms, scams, dangerous and illegal products, explicit content, and the emerging risks posed by AI. This bill gives parents more control, strengthens privacy protections for children, updates outdated online safety laws, and holds Big Tech accountable for putting profits ahead of our kids’ well-being. Our children deserve a safer internet, and tonight the House took an important step toward making that happen. @HouseCommerce

Three decades have passed without Congress acting to protect kids on the internet. We can continue to persist in making the perfect the enemy of the good, or we can seize this moment to pass common-sense, bipartisan protections against child manipulation, sexual exploitation, and harmful data practices, while ensuring that states like California can enact even stronger safeguards. I look forward to voting yes on KOSA and continuing the work ahead needed to protect our kids.

🚨The House just passed the bipartisan KIDS Act, which includes two of my bills to strengthen online protections for children. My legislation helps equip families with better online safety resources and modernizes privacy protections for children and teens in today's digital world. Children deserve to be able to learn, connect, and grow online without sacrificing their privacy or safety.

The KIDS Act passed the House with bipartisan support! 👏🏼 A long overdue step to rein in Big Tech and keep kids safe online. This important legislation strengthens privacy protections for children and teens, bans targeted advertising to young people, gives families more control and preserves parents’ ability to seek justice in court. I'm proud of this important step, but the work to protect kids and teens online continues.

@WhiteHouse Kind of funny how the system works perfect when he or one of his sponsored members win, but if the other side wins, it's always rigged. Pick a line, one or the other, can't be both.
