Sovereignty has two dimensions: where technology resides and where critical decisions can still be made. For a while, the race was about building the most capable model. I'm not convinced that's where lasting differentiation will come from. The opportunity lies in AI that adapts to how people and organizations think, not the other way around. Intelligence becomes far more valuable when it reflects context and expertise instead of averaging them away. That's a much harder problem to solve than adding more parameters. @Timothy_Hughes Thanks, @Timothy_Hughes. I agree with the broader point. More parameters alone don't create differentiation. The actual value emerges when AI reflects the context and expertise that make an organization unique. That's far harder to replicate than model scale.

@mikeflache Spot on. Shoveling more parameters into models just leads to more generic AI slop that buyers ignore. The real value is in grounding the tech in actual human context and unique corporate DNA.

That's an interesting distinction, dear @theomitsa. In the long run, the surrounding capabilities may prove more valuable than the model itself. If organizations can adapt and refine intelligence continuously, the mechanism for improvement becomes just as strategic as the underlying model.

I think Mira's company's biggest contribution is Tinker, not Inkling. Inkling is powerful, but it is just an LLM like many others. Tinker, on the other hand, is an API that allows you to finetune any model (including Inkling) on the company's powerful compute. Again, they are not the only ones that offer finetuning on their compute, but, overall, Tinker and Inkling are a nice package.

I agree, @DG_Collective. As models become more interchangeable, the differentiator shifts from the technology itself to how well it reflects the context in which decisions are made. Domain expertise is difficult to copy, and that makes it a far more durable source of advantage than model performance alone.

@mikeflache As foundation models become more accessible, differentiation will increasingly shift to how effectively organizations embed domain knowledge, governance, and decision context into AI. That is where sustainable competitive advantage is likely to emerge.

@Timothy_Hughes I like the distinction, @Timothy_Hughes. Scale has its place, but intelligence becomes meaningful when it adapts to context rather than applying the same answer everywhere. That principle matters just as much in human relationships as it does in AI.
