⚡ AI is not automating customer service. It is shifting decision authority inside organizations. As a recent Gulf News analysis shows, AI is already embedded in banking, telecom, and travel workflows in the UAE. The shift is not visible at the interface. It is happening in how decisions are made, routed, and governed. 1️⃣ Authority Shift: Routine decisions are moving from human agents to AI systems. Decision rights are being reallocated without formal redesign. 2️⃣ Governance Gap: Many organizations deploy AI into workflows without clear accountability for how decisions are made, explained, or challenged. 3️⃣ Scaling Constraint: As AI expands into higher-stakes decisions, lack of explainability will constrain adoption and trigger regulatory and trust friction. The real challenge is not deploying AI faster. It is redesigning who holds decision authority when machines start making them. 📍 The jobs safest from AI are not the least technical. They are the most human. The labor market is not dividing between “AI jobs” and “non-AI jobs.” It is dividing between work that requires human judgment in real environments and work that can be systematized. This is a structural shift in how value is created. 1️⃣ Workflow Boundary Roles involving real-time judgment, public interaction, and physical context remain difficult to automate because AI struggles with unpredictable environments. 2️⃣ Structural Blind Spot Many leaders still assume technical skill determines job resilience, while the real differentiator is decision complexity and human interaction. 3️⃣ Strategic Consequence Organizations that redesign work around human judgment plus AI assistance will outperform those trying to fully automate decision-heavy roles. The safest jobs are not the ones farthest from AI. They are the ones that require humans to stay in the loop.
