@GrampAntifa I know you're more at the "nationalize the hospitals" end of the spectrum, but the great lack of cost information because there are so few real markets in health care is a bloody expensive problem. reason.com/2026/04/23/ame…

@SantasTavern @samstein @CitizenCohn Two thirds of "gun deaths" are suicide, and gun control is useless for preventing those. Gun control is also useless for preventing violent crime, but that is a different problem.

Absolutely nothing that guy did, no matter how truly evil it was, should result in people like me being disarmed. "Gun deaths in America" are tragic, certainly, but in modern human history, far more disarmed populations have been murdered by their own governments. You only have propaganda on your side, not solutions.

I think we’re going to see more “no electricity” restaurants and hotels and other such retreats. It’s very blue coded, which will further sell this at a time when political identity is so relevant Also an extension of growing resistance to screen culture in the home and at school There’s also a very interesting and still emerging regional and even civilizational divide over receptivity to the higher order elaborations of “electricity culture”. It feels very natural to some parts of the world. Others you can really sense the resistance and push back. I think screens as such will become one of these basic fault lines which will reveal archetypal differences at the population level

I do not want the federal government to bail out Spirit Airlines. The company should be allowed to fail. Let them sell off their airplanes, routes, and other assets to other airlines and use the proceeds to pay their creditors. Reminder: Some American taxpayers don't fly.

@BohuslavskaKate Clueless... US attack on Iran and Venezuela has forced China off the fence. China is buying record amounts of Russian oil/gas. China is spending billions fast-tracking existing and proposed oil, gas and LNG projects. Ukraine is a proxy war against CHINA...

FRANCIS: Ukraine decided to absolutely ravage Russia’s oil export industry using its own long-range weapons. The best way to defeat Russia is to bankrupt it, and Ukrainians are onto this strategy. The price per barrel has risen, but the number of barrels Russia can actually ship has gone down by about 50%. As a result, there’s no real windfall for Moscow. Ukraine destroyed roughly half of Russia’s export capacity. This destruction is continuing, and Russians appear unable to stop it with their air defenses.

The "yes" vote has won Va's redistricting referendum — but the legal fight is just beginning. Four Va Constitutional challenges are now teed up: THREE challenges to the amendment process itself: 1️⃣ First passage was invalid. The amendment was taken up during a special session convened in 2024 for budget purposes. The General Assembly's own call to the Governor (under Art. IV, §6 and Art. V, §5) and its governing resolution (HJR 6001) limited the session's scope. Expanding it to include a constitutional amendment on redistricting required a two-thirds vote that never occurred. A Tazewell County judge found this action "void, ab initio." 2️⃣ Art. XII, §1 requires that after first passage, a proposed amendment be "referred to the General Assembly at its first regular session held after the next general election of members of the House of Delegates." An election must intervene between first and second passage. Here, first passage occurred during an election cycle — not before an intervening one. 3️⃣ Art. XII, §1 requires the amendment be submitted to voters "not sooner than ninety days after final passage by the General Assembly." The timeline from second passage to the April 21 vote did not satisfy this requirement. Plus ONE challenge to the proposed maps: 4️⃣ Art. II, §6 requires that "every electoral district shall be composed of contiguous and compact territory." The proposed congressional maps violate this contiguity requirement (rather badly). Next stop, court. Stay tuned.

Members of the SPLC getting criminally indicted is good news for America on many fronts but, not that anyone cares, it's also personally important to me. Back in 2018, the SPLC created an offshoot organization called "SPLC Action." SPLC Action, following the "adpocalypse scandal" on Youtube, gained direct access to the censorship board at Google/Youtube. Within a month, they told Youtube/Google to delete an initial batch of roughly ~1,000 channels and delete/restrict a lot of videos. My channel was one of those targeted by them along with a few other gun oriented channels and was deleted from the platform. The only other gun channel that is still around that I know of that was part of this purge is "Bloke On The Range." *To my knowledge* all of the other gun channels that they deleted, which included the late James Yeager's channel, never recovered. They didn't just go after gun channels. I know, from one of my former Youtube reps telling me directly, they also went after Glenn Beck, John Stossel, and other more "mainstream" channels during this purge and by 2019 had deleted over 17k American based "conservative" channels. Last year, they spent millions of dollars going after more "gun channels" on Youtube and focused on the Dirty Civilian channel along with other "prepper" type channels. They were less successful in 2025 because of competitive social media outlets thankfully. These subversive operations would never stop unless someone stops them. This censorship has impacted virtually all aspects of "media" for decades. Hopefully this stops them but we shall see. Regardless, it's a step in the right direction... #SPLC #justice #Censorship #youtube #google

@GrampAntifa How does that increase supply? All it does is shift costs to taxpayers. P.S. If you want more supply, you gotta be cool with folks making a buck providing the goods and services.

@GrampAntifa The actual solution is increasing supply. Medicaid is a bandaid in the abscess of insufficient supply. The PPACA did nothing to increase supply, so did nothing to fix the genuine problem.

@MilitiaJim The problem was uninsured poor people. We can’t deny treatment when poor people have health problems. Uncovered, they can’t afford the simplest procedures. Your cohort had crap insurance that also didn’t cover much. So, they were forced to buy subsidized, proper insurance.

In 2004 retired law enforcement got permission to carry in all 50 states. Now there's a Congressman, Special Forces veteran, Rep. Harrigan proposing the same thing for SF vets. Serving in the military or law enforcement shouldn't give you civil rights other Americans are denied.

Much as I hate to agree with Liz Warren, the fact that Kevin Warsh can't bring himself to say that Trump lost the 2020 election answers the question of whether he can be independent as Fed chair. Saying you will be independent and being independent are very different things.
