I hope the "not simple" excuse isn't a reference to how the game actually works, because the tech is clearly already there.
If you can flick a switch to extend events until August, you can flick a switch to make them permanent. The "unlock" logic is already hard coded into the Card Market itself for permanent purchases, so the backend obviously supports the feature.
This isn't a technical or hardware limitation clearly seems like a boardroom decision to keep the FOMO going.
