There was widespread agreement that while FEMA should not be eliminated, significant changes are necessary to bolster the agency and make it more efficient. NEMA will continue to work closely with the staff to ensure we remain a part of these discussions #EMGTwitter

Since this continues FY25 amounts and the FY26 estimate for the DRF was higher, this will likely mean less available funds for FY26. Additionally, there are no additional funds to fix the $8-11 billion DRF deficit, so expect continued slow walking of project approvals #EMGTwitter

This will hopefully restore FEMA GO & get grants moving once current lawsuits/the conditional award process are resolved. The CR also allows OMB to make the full-year DRF amount available immediately & not subject to the CR time limits #NEMAReadyNation

The shutdown has finally ended with a CR restoring funding for most agencies through Jan 30. Congress must now complete 7 of the remaining 9 approps bills by Jan 30. Many consider the Homeland bill too controversial to pass and it will likely be under a full-year CR. #EMGTwitter
