It was an honor to meet Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze (@PM_Kobakhidze) in Tbilisi. Georgia’s strong macroeconomic performance and continued reform efforts reflect resilience and forward momentum. I congratulated the Government on strengthening national and regional connectivity, including through the recently completed Rikoti section of the East-West highway, reinforcing Georgia’s position along the Middle Corridor. As one of Georgia’s largest development partners, @ADB_HQ remains committed to supporting Georgia’s economic development. 🇬🇪 Today, Georgia celebrates its National Flag Day. The Georgian five-cross flag is among the oldest flags in the world; centuries-old symbol represents our nation, church, and state. It embodies the strength, courage and resilience of the Georgian people and hope for peaceful and prosperous future. Through honouring the National Flag we commemorate the eternal memory of Georgians who sacrificed their lives to the future of the country.

We are closely following developments in Venezuela with the hope that future processes will unfold in line with the best interests of the Venezuelan people. Given that the Venezuelan authorities recognized Georgia’s occupied regions, Abkhazia and the so-called South Ossetia, as independent states in gross violation of international law, we express hope that recent developments will lead to the reversal of this unlawful decision, in line with Georgia’s national interests and international legal principles.

I was delighted to spend inspiring days with the Georgian 🇬🇪 delegation led by Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze. Immensely proud of Georgia’s growing engagement within WHO, and deeply grateful to the European Member States for their strong support of our aspirations to engage more closely in WHO’s global governance. In 2013, David Khrikuli (12y.o) won First Prize at the Fryderyk Chopin Competition for Young Pianists in Tbilisi and received a special jury award for his virtuosity. The event was supported by the @PLinGEORGIA. Today he’s a finalist of the 19th International Chopin Competition!
