There is a sentiment emerging that the injuries in PGA Tour golfers are related to their swing speed. Firstly, any non-contact injury is multifactorial, and all of these factors need to be addressed when an injury or pain occurs. Secondly, there is no such thing as too much speed. Only if you don't have the physical capacity and strength to support it. Why aren't we seeing the level of back injuries in long drivers like that on the PGA Tour? They hit alot of balls at much higher speeds. Maybe because they are all big and strong 🤔 Maybe these PGA tour guys should quit training like golfers and train to be bigger, stronger, faster athletes.

If the golfers you work with are serious about their performance, there are two areas they should never be held back by: 1) Poorly fit equipment 2) Unidentified physical restrictions These are non-negotiable for us. Equipment and physical limitations can be major performance bottlenecks, yet both are easily uncovered when you assess instead of guess. The solution can be identified in minutes, not months.

GSW fired a -10 Tuesday to climb 3 spots & finish 3rd of 15 teams in their season-opener. Newcomer Jordan Jones closed the 3-round event in 6th place out of 81 golfers (-4) & Oscar Hammar tied for 10th (-2). Hurricanes topped the #1, 3, 5, 9 & 10 teams in preseason coaches poll.

Think of speed training as technical & physical development of a movement pattern. Not just wailing away.

CONGRATS to Felipe Gomez, Joao Costa & Nicolas Escobar for being named NCAA Division II PING All-Region Southeast by the Golf Coaches Association of America! 2nd for Escobar (#43). 1st 🏆 for Gomez (#4) & Costa (#35). All 3 were All-PBC. Gomez is 2025 PBC Player of the Year.

One of the real problems as far as slow play goes is golfers who think they’re faster than they actually are.

Everyone I’ve talked to associated with little league and travel ball tells me kids have to play baseball year round. But I listened to the best baseball agent in the game Scott Boras on the @DigginDeepPod and he says don’t do it. Typically the top people in every sport give completely different advice than all the people trying to get to the top.
