🚨 HE JOKED ON TIKTOK ABOUT BUYING SPIRIT AIRLINES… HOURS LATER $132,000,000 FLOODED IN — NOW HE COULD BE CEO Spirit Airlines didn’t just struggle… it collapsed. One of America’s biggest low-cost carriers wiped out. That’s when this guy stepped in. The same guy who went viral for flying Spirit Airlines for 24 hours straight on YouTube. He posted a simple idea on social media: “What if we all just… buy it?” His logic? There are 250M+ adults in the U.S. If even a fraction chipped in the cost of a Spirit ticket ($30–$40)… you could raise billions. Then it exploded. • Millions of views within hours • Website launched in under an hour • Traffic crashes it instantly • Media starts calling (WSJ, CBS, Fox) • Developers, lawyers, PR scrambling to join A few hours later? $132,000,000 in pledges. (No money collected, just people saying they’re in) Now he’s pitching something even bigger: • One person = one vote (not based on money) • No private equity control • Airline “owned by the people” • Him… stepping in as CEO He admits he’s figuring it out in real time. It started as a joke but turned into a movement overnight. People aren’t laughing anymore… they’re signing up. Would you trust a random guy from TikTok to run this airline… or stick with the people who ran it into the ground? 📹: TikTok/hbpvo

@jimthegiant complaining about the right things is important but we never get to do that, we are only allowed to complain about things that are ideologically acceptable. Inflation inflicts a terrible injustice on the poor and benefits the rich but we never talk about that.

Add VAT onto everything we buy and it’s a wonder anyone can make any money at all. The money goes round and round the economy and the govt is squeezing money out at every node. This was fine when tax payers significantly outnumbered the benefit recipients (state pension etc) but those days are good and gone.

@CutMyTaxUK Stevenson’s exact numbers were sloppy (NI isn’t 10%), but his core point stands: high earners pay 45-50% marginal on new income while dynastic trusts pay 0.6% on the existing wealth stock. It’s not apples-to-apples, but the system does tax work far harder than old wealth..

The far left's great source of wisdom, Gary Stevenson, reveals total ignorance on tax policy. He claims he pays 60% tax on his earnings made up of 50% income tax & 10% NI. Neither of those rates exist. He can't understand the difference between IHT & income tax & confuses wealth & consumption taxation. A total embarrassment.

The 6% periodic charge (every 10 years) is on all value above the nil rate band. Sounds like a bargain for small trusts that are set up as PETS but the Duke of Westminsters trust will pay that every 10 years for the life of the trust. It will be quite the cash cow over the coming centuries. The Grosvenor trusts were setup in the 50’s and a new duke only recently took the title so IHT has been paid, it’s just spread out over the decades. The trust allows the property which has been accumulated over a thousand years to stay together while the gov still gets paid for doing very little. Also, the trust pays income tax, CGT and all the rest just like a person does. It’s an interesting topic. I wonder what would happen if the trusts were forcibly shut down and the govt tried to sell the property portfolio.

@Thesecretinves2 @garyseconomics @DanielPriestley People listen to Gary because he tells them what they want to hear. This won’t damage his audience, they will rally taking and carry on bleeting the same emotional nonsense as before.

@TheonrableMuntr @ThePosieParker Inheritance tax is 40% at the point of death while the trust pays 6% every ten years on unrealised gains. The Duke of Westminsters trust is a MASSIVE cash cow for the govt

He is correct in that inheritance is unearned income. Ordinary men and women jump up and down at inheritance tax because they want to leave untaxed a two bed semi to their kids, but the same principle is used by the truly wealthy to privilege their kids at far greater levels. So spoiled kids without merit, end up as your landlords, your bosses, your Prime Minister because the passing on of unearned wealth had far greater implications than a two bed semi.

@ThePosieParker Not a fan of Gary, so couldn't care less as to whether he's been "taken down" or not. However, it is generally recognised by many exonomists, right or left, and even some billionaires, that the super rich do not pay their fair share of taxes. But, you do you with the bootlicking.

I’m sure we have all now seen the footage of Metropolitan rozzers kicking a suspected terrorist in the head, repeatedly, when he was down. We can all play a part in putting an end to this sort of police brutality. Mainly by not going around stabbing people.

Five immediate changes I would make to boost jobs: 1. Scrap the minimum wage 2. Cut NI 3. Remove any cap on university fees. Let the market sort it out. 4. Cut universal credit 5. Drop degree requirements for most public roles What else needs to happen?

Interesting work day. The business is evolving and growing into a big firm and the decision making is migrating from individuals using force of will to teams, processes and documents. It’s slower, steadier but also safer (apparently). It’s still a hierarchical management structure so I think it will face issues from AI the way that Jack Dorsey recently wrote about in the Block blog page. The business will survive over the long term though.
