@OPtighthole This is assuming that the unleased mineral interest is participating. Which would make it a working interest, and thus, NRA is nonsensical. A royalty interest is a cost free share of production. A working interest, by definition, is not a royalty interest.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: If you have 1 NMA (unleased), how many NRA do you have?

@OPtighthole I always calculate NRA assuming a 1/4 lease royalty, for unleased minerals. So that would be 2 NRA if I did my math correctly. This is using the formal: NMA = MI * gross acres; where MI is your fractional mineral interest; and NRA = NRI / 0.125 * gross acres 🤷‍♂️
