This video was posted by a "conservative bible-believing" Evangelical Free Church in our region. It was once a great church my wife and I attended for a short season of our lives. I still have some friends at it. And how I respond to it on Facebook: "This is a mealy-mouth syncretistic compromise, Dave Wernz. It’s a massive failure of spiritual leadership. Once upon a time, Grace Fellowship Church was a church where I could send anybody with the confidence they would be taught the big rocks of Scripture. And you've fallen to this? Ramadan is a pagan practice handed down from a crazed, sexually perverted heretic who either made up an encounter with an “angel” or got his teaching directly from a demon. God clearly rejects fasting directed to false gods or done with wrong motives (e.g., Zec 7:5, Pr 15:29). These people need to be told plainly to reject these false practices and bow to the knee to Jesus. Muslims make up about 1.3% of Americans, and I’d venture it’s under 1% in the Tristate. You guys are speaking of Ramadan in neutral, almost favorable terms, thinking you can undo that by tagging on the gospel at the end of this video. I'm addressing this publicly because it was posted publicly and done so by people who once knew better. I downloaded the video because my gut is you will delete it and try to walk it back without calling it what it is. The original video can be found here: facebook.com/watch/?mibexti… "

A few years ago a boy’s dad at church finds me at potluck and says, “Your boy punched my boy in the face.” I ask why. He says, “My boy called him a name.” I ask, “Is it over?” He says, “It’s over.” I say, “We good?” And he nods and sticks his hand out, “We good.” That was last of it. No drama. Heard nothing else about it. This is how men settle disputes…a good punch in the face and a handshake. Unfortunately, the old way - this superior, civilized way - of settling disputes, has been replaced with intervention, mediation, or maybe even calling the cops or a counselor. And that method *always* leads to feuds that spread to families, friends, or neighborhoods that last days, weeks, or years. As a society, we need to normalize controlled violence. And that might mean settling a few things in the parking lot.

This my impression of Megan Basham @megbasham screaming about a group of black families at church having a dinner together during Black History Month, “Dividing up events by skin color,” as she says. How dare black people get some time together as minorities in America…

Seems to me the @harmonizedgrace thing may be a providential shot over the bow for @Brian_Sauve @Eric_Conn @rightresponsem et al. I’ve fought for these guys for a long time, have been blessed by a lot of what they have to say, and wear a lot of the same labels. But their persistent refusal to accept rebuke coupled with their insistence on being unbalanced and inflammatory has reached a point where I can’t keep walking uphill both ways in the snow to give them the benefit of the doubt. At some point, you will know them by their fruits. If you want to earn some respect, gentlemen, take some responsibility here. 1. Apologize to @conservmillen and admit that she warned about the legalistic tradwife cosplay threat a long time ago and you guys (in a very ungentlemanly way) attacked and ridiculed her as a “boss babe” because she has a podcast, while having no objection to the similar social media presence of Patriarchy Hannah, nor any rebuke to her representations of patriarchy, which were sometimes extreme to the level of parody. 2. Apologize to @PastorNinja , @douglaswils , @HwsEleutheroi , and other faithful – and older – believers who have been warning about the dangers of the anonymous armies that you lead for some time, and have now been dramatically proven correct. Apologies for disrespecting the elderly “boomers” would also be warranted. 3. Demonstrate a willingness to hear rebuke by acknowledging something – anything – profitable in the cautions, warnings, and exhortations that have been directed at your community by dozens of faithful Christian ministers and laymen. These cautions have covered topics ranging from Nazism and antisemitism to the dangers of over-application of patriarchal principles to your embrace of mockery and anonymity. That it seems you can see no truth in any of it at all is a major 🚩. I genuinely want the best for you guys. But you’re really starting to look like a cult – a “movement.” My experience in the Christian community over the last 20 years is that “movements” don’t usually end well. I know the woke left loves apology hunting. But Christians actually have first dibs on repentance. There is a difference between being cowardly enough to pay the Dane geld and being man enough to own up and accept rebuke.

@JoshDaws Perhaps I’m not understanding it correctly. Dispensationalism seems to give an overvalued role to Israel and the Jews, but in reaction to this, there are some who seem to go the other way and veer into antisemitism.
