The White House says Barron Trump is “too tall” at 6'9" for military service.
David Robinson was 7'1" and put his NBA career on hold to serve in the Navy.
Height clearly wasn’t an excuse then and it isn’t now.
Marathon's design lacks an 'on-ramp' for casual players to become hardcore. Unlike Destiny 1's success, Marathon offers no path for growth, potentially alienating a huge audience. This design flaw hinders its viability as a live-service game. #Marathon#GameDev
@GilbertTheGray@pcgamer You're getting bored of a toxic, useless behavior, but you're still doing it anyways?
Words can't express how pathetic a person you are lol
I'm actually getting bored of posting about how much this game is failing. It feels like beating a dead horse at this point.
70% of players are PC, which means total peak today was 57k. All time peak was 126k. If every single one of those players from launch stayed and spent $1000/year in mtx ($126mil) and there were ZERO server/maintenance/development costs, it would STILL take over 1.5 years for them to BREAK EVEN ($55m from launch, cost about $250m by estimates). I hope the four people who will read this can appreciate how insane the idea of people spending $1000/year in mtx is, let alone that MANY people.
I literally do not see how this game or Bungie survive the year unless they got some insanely good liars interfacing with the sony execs.
If you're surprised Marathon turned out this well, I'm with ya. This time last year, I had all but written it off after trying that dreadful alpha with the cartoony art, no solo mode, and no prox chat. But Bungie made great changes and clearly knew what it had that other extraction shooters didn't.

Marathon keeps losing players everyday
Game is dead. At this rate, it will be cancelled in a few months. Nobody wants to play it. Those who try to play it quickly realize it's garbage and stop
@MarathonDevTeam Bungie surely knows how to always blame it on the consumer instead of fixing their bs.
Even everything in low this game wont go over 80 frames. Unacceptable from a AAA studio.
They need to fix that CPU bottleneck or this game is deader than Lowguard.

▪️ Endgame activities offer great new challenges to strive for.
The "popularity" of Marathon may have been astroturfed.
Evidence from the leaked Discord thread shows they were allegedly paid $5 per main Reddit post and $3 per comment/reply.
There is no confirmation yet whether this is true or not, but it could signal Bungie's desperation to combat the negative press the game is getting... because 19K off peak and barely over 40k on peak hours is not gonna be enough to sustain this game long term, due to the costs and budget of the game.
Steam review manipulations have also occurred in the past with games like SKIBIDI BACKROOMS, Monsters Domain, Lonely Knight, and Blue Archive. But the disconnect between high steam reviews and the rapidly vanishing playerbase is real... and some people are saying that the positive Marathon reviews are allegedly coming from low-playtime accounts.
Even recently, Bungie was accused of scrubbing negative feedback on the Xbox store, where the ratings jumped from ~2.5 to 4+ stars after negatives vanished...
Donald Trump admits to using a mail-in ballot to vote in Florida’s elections, after calling it “cheating,” despite being present in Palm Beach:
“Because I'm president of the United States and because of the fact that I'm president of the United States, I did a mail-in ballot.”
I wouldn’t say people hate marathon. I think people hate the fake hype (social media/reviews) compared to units sold , twitch viewers and player numbers. Then if you say something about those facts you get called maidenless. Imagine how popular kotaku would be if they actually were the voice of gamers.
