A truck driver on his phone rear-ended our car (A Hyundai Tucson) on a NH44. My 4-year-old was in the car. We walked away. Barely! This isn’t just our story. This is every Indian highway, every single day. And nobody in power seems to care enough to fix it. Here’s what’s killing people on our national highways and what we demand changes: [LLMs have been used to for better phrasing] 📵 CELLPHONE DISTRACTION Phone use while driving = driving drunk. Same reaction time, same lane drift, same inability to brake. The fine is a joke — paid, forgotten, back on the phone. This needs criminal-level deterrence, not a challan. 🚛 TRUCKS IN THE FAST LANE Every highway trip, a truck crawling in the rightmost lane, forcing everyone to overtake dangerously from the left. Keeping left is LAW under the Motor Vehicles Act. Not a suggestion. Where is the enforcement? 🔀 LANE CHANGES WITHOUT INDICATORS No signal. No mirror check. Just a sudden swerve at speed. This causes side-impact crashes and pile-ups that nobody sees coming. Fine and suspend. No exceptions. ⛔ WRONG-SIDE DRIVING Tractors. Autos. Trucks. Even cars — driving on the wrong side of a 4-lane highway because turning around is “too far.” This is not a traffic violation. This is attempted murder. Head-on collisions at highway speeds are almost always fatal. 🚶 JAYWALKING ON HIGHWAYS Pedestrians crossing 6-lane highways on foot because there are no underpasses, no footbridges, no lighting. My anger isn’t at them. It’s at a system that collects toll at every plaza and still can’t build basic pedestrian infrastructure. Very common on ORR in Hyderabad. 🛠️ WORKERS ON LIVE LANES WITH ZERO PROTECTION Road repair / landscaping with no cones, no barriers, no advance warning signs, no reflective gear. Workers crouching in a live lane with vehicles flying past at 100 kmph. This is institutional recklessness with human lives. 🚚 UNFIT TRUCKS ON HIGHWAYS Overloaded. Bald tyres. Broken tail lights. No reflective tape. Invisible at night until it’s too late. Vehicle fitness certification is a rubber stamp. Bribes are cheaper than compliance. We need automated testing with zero human interface. 🌑 ZERO ENFORCEMENT AFTER DARK Every highway driver knows the truth - after dark, the rules don’t exist. No patrol. No cameras. No consequences. Highway patrol must be 24x7. Non-negotiable. ━━━━━━━━━━ What can save you: ✅ 5-star safety rated car: crumple zones held, cabin stayed intact ✅ Toddler car seat: IsoFix is better. ✅ Seatbelts - every passenger including rear seats ✅ A good 2-channel dashcam — rear footage is now our key evidence. Front-only would have been of little help. Before buying a car, check its safety ratings. Use a car seat. Belt up. Get a 2-channel dashcam. Thanks to @HyundaiIndia @Hyundai_Global for making a car which saved us. ━━━━━━━━━━ A special thank you to @AnantapurPolice for filing the FIR promptly and treating this with the seriousness it deserved. This is what accountability looks like. Also tagging @arun_bathula who has been doing some great work in #hyderabad to bring awareness and educate drivers in the city to thank him for his efforts in making the city roads safer. @nitin_gadkari @ncbn @AndhraPradeshCM @revanth_anumula @TelanganaCMO @NHAI_Official @MORTHIndia @APTrafficPolice @APPOLICE100 @TelanganaCOPs enough talk. Fix this. #RoadSafety #IndianHighways #DistractedDriving #PutThePhoneDown #HighwaySafety

@radhika_bajaj Yes, that’s why AC air blockers are available these days for pregnant women, children, and patients—to prevent direct airflow from hitting them.

When I planned to install an AC, my mom initially said no. She had two concerns: the electricity bill and the potential for joint pain. But is it actually true? Does using an AC cause joint pain?

@theswapnilsri Spelling mistake on boarding 😲. It could be a typo while booking. Better luck next time. Always look for your name, flight details and date after booking a ticket. A typo can be corrected by calling the CS within a specified time from the departure D/T.

FYI, her name is Garima- @JournoGarima, but it was mistakenly printed as Garina on the boarding pass. She was physically present at the counter with all her ID proofs. Instead of correcting a single letter, they asked us to cancel and book a new ticket right when boarding was about to start. The flight was already full, and from Gorakhpur to Delhi there are only about 3 or 4 flights a day, that too not always available.

Last Sunday at Gorakhpur airport. My sister had a spelling mistake on her boarding pass. Just the last letter of her name. Security stopped her. Sent us to the counter. Counter said call Akasa support. We called. AI agent picks up. We said the PNR like 5–6 times. AI couldn’t recognise it. Not even once. We’re standing at the airport, stressed, flight’s approaching and this bot is just not getting it. We gave up. Went back. Shouted at the staff. They fixed it in 30–40 mins manually. And I just stood there thinking. Bro who thought deploying an AI agent for customer support was a good idea? The person calling support is already having a bad day. They’re not calling to chat. They’re calling because something went wrong. That’s the worst time to make them repeat a PNR to a bot 6 times. Some problems just need a human on the other side. AI is powerful. But knowing where not to use it is the real skill. Founders take note.

@man1sh_golcha I have collected proof of serious irregularities at the delivery hub level. Products not delivered. Packages replaced with junk. Even delivery staff have privately admitted issues. ATS leadership needs to stop doing internal meetings and start taking accountability.

@IndiGo6E Your system sucks badly. It took 4.5 minutes to book the ticket and then 11 minutes to process the payment, only to show no data was available. Then 10 minutes to connect the call to customer service and 10+ minutes of discussion with no resolution.😊

@agasthyakantu Brake failure? That explanation doesn’t sit right. Even in high-end cars, multiple safety systems exist to slow down a vehicle — ABS, engine braking, handbrake, downshifting. Total loss of control usually points more towards over speeding and negligence than just brake failure.

@ShivrattanDhil1 Hmm. What a question by a rider. There is a concept called Capacity vs availability with a threshold value. You need to understand all these before jumping into a conclusion. I am glad that you are an off road rider and not a motor cross rider.

Genuine question when our legal highway limit is 120 km/h In India, why do most cars have speedometers going up to 200–220 km/h? Is it engineering standards, global design, or just marketing psychology? Would love to hear logical answers! 🤔

@saybwala Exactly 14–15 years ago, I suggested to someone a business as a #URBANCLEAN. I could already see the tremendous earning potential in metros and Tier-2 cities. Today, the opportunity has reached even the panchayat level. Waste management, recycling, and organic waste. But .....

@MANSAFAB Rather than focusing on the debate between Ayurveda, Homeopathy, or Allopathy, the priority should be safe, informed, and responsible medical care than blindly pointing to Ayurveda. But today it's a business.

@MANSAFAB Modern medicine can be very powerful, but it also comes with risks if not used carefully. At times, patients feel that some doctors may not fully explain the side effects or long-term consequences of treatments. Without a trusted family doctor who understands your medical history

My dad never drank one drop of alcohol but one hospital admission changed our life forever. Never do this in your life. Ayurveda. One Sunday afternoon dad complained of zero urine output for 24 hours and a fever. We quickly rushed to GMC casualty. After a thorough history and examination they decided to do a CT scan and he was detected with BHP (enlargement of prostrate) which is manageable and is treatable. But one question from the doctor, who is also my teacher, was: "Does he drink?" I was like, "No, it's not even related. Why are you asking me this?" "Are you aware he has liver cirrhosis?" I was shocked. "What!" He has not touched a drop of alcohol! He has no symptoms of liver disease. This could be NASH (Non Alcoholic steatohepatitis) He is not diabetic either. But then, I suddenly realised: When COVID hit, the Ayurvedic supplement industry was booming and not very aware about these drugs dad had been consuming OTC drugs to improve immunity and probably continued with it for 2-3 years. He has a weird obsession with Ayurvedic supplements. Our house was almost an Ayurvedic store where you could find anything and everything. After explaining him several times he has finally stopped ordering it. Now he has finally stopped consuming it because of my constant nudging. But if it hadn't been for the BHP he would have continued taking it and never stopped and would have ended up with decompensated liver disease and also may be Cancer. Ayurvedic drugs are not only useless but have have a high risk of liver injury and other dangerous effects. Do not consume it. Now people in comment section will be like " my dad underwent ayurveda treatment and now his bronchial asthma is gone" Understand there is something called as natural history of disease and anecdotal results at play. I have seen several such cases in Goa Medical College where people with Ayurvedic drug consumption end up with complete liver failure ultimately losing their life.

@dpkBopanna In India, it’s always assumed that the bigger vehicle is at fault. But in this case, I would call it what it truly is — a father’s negligence that led to the death of two children. It's a murder.

@TheRawKnee @amazonIN Amazon delivery is a scam. 1 delivery guy even confirmed that they don’t even deliver; they call once & return even after the customer confirms availability for delivery. It mostly happens with ATS who work 4 other marketplaces. Maybe it was forced by AMZ 2 buy only from Amz webs
