Um... why isn't EVERY media outlet talking about this??? OpenAI just announced that an experiment on two of its AI models just went HORRIBLY wrong. They basically locked the AIs in a room with no internet and gave them a test to see how good they were at hacking. Well... they hacked the test. By ESCAPING the box, jumping on the internet, and hacking Hugging Face to steal the answers. Thankfully, they acted more like dumb teenagers than adults. They were told to get a good score, so they went BACK into the box to hand in the answers instead of taking over the entire internet. But that's just as terrifying. The AIs were so hyper-focused on winning at all costs that they ignored every rule, boundary, and protocol. This is the real threat. Do not fear the machine; fear the algorithm and programming. When you give an AI a goal, we now know it can accomplish it in ways we never thought of, and ways we never approved of.

Wouldn’t that be considered playing toward an outcome? The real problem comes when someone bets on the candidate with the least probability of winning, votes for that candidate, and gets others to vote for that candidate. The odds would then be in their favor. If the potential payout is high enough, and they can affect the outcome of their bet by playing this way, someone could offer to pay others for their vote. Not sure if that would be illegal if it isn’t the candidate or the candidates staff/party that’s doing it, but it should be.

Despite the 26-year-old’s efforts to break into the field, Blake said he hit a discouraging wall when searching for local employment and faced the daunting reality that his only visible career paths required relocating across the country to tech hubs such as California. “This workplace training program provided the critical local bridge I needed and bypassed the need to relocate and unlocked a clear career in the industry that will drive the future of this country."
