One of the most fascinating businesses I looked at over the last two years was an OFS business in the O&G space in Texas.
Insane margins. Insane growth.
It absolutely printed money.
Very volatile though - you have to navigate massive ups and downs in the industry, unrelated to your actual biz.
Every conversation I had when I spoke to people in or around the O&G space always started with them saying “yeah, but….” followed by a horror story.
The gambler in me wanted it badly. Ha.

Hi @markitecht @Day_ai_app!
Im trying day.ai, want to move away from Attio.
Is there a way to integrate Linkedin/Whatsapp messages via API as a first-class activity (on par with email and calendar), and not just as a note?
English

I want to start a community dedicated to Claude Code.
It’s become the gateway drug to coding and experiencing the power of AI for tons of people.
This will be a space for people to share killer use cases, agentic workflows, proven prompts, and connect with other CC obsessives.
Comment “Claude” if you want to join.

@moseskagan Use attio. Well established crm, customizeable, easy to use. You can set up this intended use case in 15 min.

Recently, I can't escape feeling like I'm allowing unbelievable amounts of value go to waste, bc I don't do a good job of keeping in touch with people in my network.
Is there a piece of software that:
- I give it access to my email
- It scans all of my messages and creates a CRM w the names of everyone with whom I've ever interacted, their contact info, a bit about them (both from email context and LinkedIn / web search), when we last emailed and what we emailed about?
English

@RhinoVesting @PadraicMcC Right, i think the right way to build it is to scrape linkedin and look for stronger signal than connection (school or employment at overlapping time and location).
English

@PedroPURocha @PadraicMcC I just want shared groups - aka education - because it’s easier to get an initial conversation
English

@PadraicMcC @RhinoVesting Yeah, linkedin is useless, you never know if people actually know each other and how strong the connection.
I don’t know a good alternative for this.
English

@RhinoVesting @PedroPURocha Yes and very poor at surfacing 2nd and 3rd degree “way ins…”
I want this automated / don’t want to have to search.
Affinity does this to some degree but not a fit for us for a variety of reasons…

@rohitdotmittal [Equal parts](linkedin.com/company/equalp…) - insurance brokers (Equal Ventures)
[Crescendo](generalcatalyst.com/stories/our-cr…) - call center (GC)
Carr, Riggs & Ingram (CRI) - Accounting (Bessemer)

One of my favorite traditions at Rallyday is our Dinner With Purpose where we try to turn small talk into big talk with a simple and provocative question. I learn something new about my colleagues every time and it completely changes the tone of a typical mgmt dinner. We made up a pack of cards with a bunch of example questions - you can access pdf version here: 🤘 docsend.com/view/6hhubv2zn…

The key to selling, making new friends, getting what you want in life is simply deep, empathetic listening.
They should teach a course on this in school. It's so simple, and yet so difficult in practice.
When you authentically get someone to open up and pour out their soul, a bunch of doors open. It's magic.
It's fundamentally counter-intuitive that you can sell yourself to someone through the sheer act of shutting up and active listening. But it freaking works.
Long listening, short talking. Thank you for your attention to this matter

@tjparker @maxmarchione It’s the paradox of ambition. Easier to do hard things than easy ones.
English

@maxmarchione Nothing new, was easier for me to raise $4M over a decade ago than it was to get an interesting job

@InvestmentTalkk Den of thieves, when genius failed, barbarians at the gate, the ceasars palace coup, flashboys (and most michael lewis), money game and money machine. Predators ball is on my reading list.
