The 12Z ensembles are kind of a buzzkill because they mostly keep this mysterious feature scrunched up in the NE armpit of the Gulf without a lot of room to get magical. But we'll see.

Back in the day, when the Apache of the southern Great Plains were about to raid another tribe, they would covertly use kids and adults alike to mimic the yips of coyotes or the call of an owl at night to mask/conceal their location from the enemy. The calls were used as a method for them to covertly communicate and coordinate their movements tactically.

Water rescues in the Flash flood emergency in Stone County Mississippi. An RV park was flooded by with rapid water rise in Perkiston, MS. Several RV’s were swept away, others stalled out trying to evacuate. 3 people rescued. Rainfall is still intense.

Tropical update: Arthur’s remnants are working into the Deep South. Tornadoes are possible as the swirling remnants help downpours to rotate. Robust tropical moisture is also leading to a moderate to HIGH RISK of flooding!

@iCyclone The Coast is definitely getting a deluge this morning. It hasn’t rained a drop this far up yet. Was sure hoping I’d wake up to that sound. 😔

Up to 3 inches (76 mm) since 2:30 am. The rain is so intense, the pounding on the metal roof woke me up. (A sexy sound, by the way.) We've already blown way past predictions for Coastal Mississippi today.
