@rawhide_dutch @SaveStandard I’d be more open to trying permanent DST if we hadn’t already tried it in the 70s and changed our mind within a year! Russia and Morocco also tried it recently and reverted. Turkey is on permanent DST right now and every year you can see articles there complaining about it

If the Sunshine Protection Act passes, I'll be starting work in the dark 89 days out of the year; terrible. Sunshine for Our Kids Act (SOKA) is permanent Standard Time and a much better option (or we can stay on the current system!) savestandardtime.com/chart/ @SaveStandard

@MichaelStockw12 @USRepMikeFlood @RepAdrianSmith @DonBacon Yeah. As a construction worker DST really sucks. Many GC's already bump our start time to 8am in the fall and winter. A 9am "sunrise" would only make this worse for us. Driving to work in the dark. Driving home in the dark. Either Standard Time or keep the change. I prefer ST

Purely idiotic. They all know by now they tried this before in 1974 it was such a fiasco it lasted only 10 months. @USRepMikeFlood @RepAdrianSmith and @DonBacon if you all voted for this like you did KOSA your failures on behalf of Nebraska just keep on going.

BREAKING: The House has passed legislation to make Daylight Saving Time permanent nationwide, ending the twice-a-year clock changes by a 308-117 vote. Backed by President Trump, the bill now heads to the Senate. If approved and signed into law, Americans would no longer have to change their clocks.

@markallanbovair I'm against making dst permanent. It didn't work in the 70s when they tried it. Why now? Isn't this the textbook definition of insanity? LoL

@PopC_Theology @markallanbovair Especially when they already get to school in the dark now in the winter. Last I looked, schools are inside and it doesn’t matter if it’s dark

@markallanbovair Where I live the sunset on the winter solstice is like 4:30pm. That means getting up in the dark, going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark. That is worse than kids being in class for two periods when it's dark outside.

@markallanbovair Oh my!!! They will be inside when it’s dark and out at school when it’s light. If it’s 1.5 class periods, then they got to school already in the dark.

Exactly why standard time should be permanent. Idiots in this country don’t understand how large we are, evolution around the sun, etc and are making it better for Minnesota not Florida. Vote for the Dem bill making standard time, not DST.
Paul Dellegatto⚡️FOX@PaulFox13

House of Representatives is scheduled to vote tomorrow on making Daylight Saving Time permanent. If it passes the House, the Senate will need to pass it before the President signs the bill into law. I think the extra light in the evening would be welcome by most, the late winter sunrises may be up for more debate. #Tampa

@izzy_boop You can say that america's not a train country but that is completely by choice. Trains are faster and more economically efficient than buses, so for a train to be slower and cost more to board means choices were made along the way to cause that to be the case

@the_transit_guy Get over it. Trains are a taxpayers worst nightmare: a bottomless pit of lost money. 245 miles can easily be driven. You need to move to Europe and deal with all their problems.

The richest country on Earth: where a 245-mile trip between major cities means choosing between a $500 flight or a 6-hour train ride. Sure am glad we haven't invested in fast trains!

An Amercian member of congress is threatened by foreign terrorists carrying American rifles, backed by a foreign military paid for by American taxpayers, and the US ambassador to that country says not a word in defense of his own countryman, and instead uses his social media accounts to promote his own vapid cable news appearances, which amount to propaganda for that same foreign country. It’s too much, too insulting and humiliating to America. This is how revolutions start. For the sake our nation, Mike Huckabee should be removed from his post immediately.

I’m not going to angrily tweet at @AmericanAir for a 4.5 hour delay in Dallas making me miss an entire day of a trip to Denver. I’m going to angrily tweet at @SecDuffy for repealing the rules that made sure I got more than a meal coupon.

Jaylen Brown says players should be able to own equity in teams because they help increase the value of NBA franchises “Players should be able to invest alongside ownership groups and business opportunities. I don't understand why that’s ever been a thing. It's like you’re an athlete and they make it seem like they can control how much wealth or growth that you could actually accumulate. I think that's wrong” “I also think that any other major corporation, if you work for Apple, Nike or anywhere, if you're a CEO, if you're someone who has been on a board for a large amount of time, you get equity in a company at some point. You are part of it” “I think athletes should be looked at in the same way. You played for the Celtics for 20 years, you should get a piece of equity because you helped accumulate the growth. That's the part that gets lost in translation. The sweat equity you put in. You get compensated for doing your job, but you don't get compensated for the growth. At major corporations and companies you do, or at least some of the big ones”
