@EsotericStarmer Don’t praise Labour for increasing defence spending. They added the intelligence budget to the defence budget to make it look bigger and continue to delay the defence investment plan. All the while we suffer on going cuts to all 3 services.

@suza66970 @Defence_Index The UK is the only country the US buys military airframes off. T45 goshawk, av8b, WB57. All adapted from UK designs.

🇬🇧🇯🇵🇮🇹 The UK is preparing a massive £6 billion funding boost for the GCAP next generation stealth fighter program with Japan and Italy. The project aims to field a 6th gen stealth jet by 2035 to challenge U.S. dominance in military aviation technology. Source: Financial Times

@NavyStrang Opening an airfield in the middle of a country you are actively at war with, having zero ground troops to save 1 guy and taking zero loss of life is global power shit. Dropping 6 guys and a few hundred lbs of gear to a remote island is something an adventure club might organize

@FalklandsinUK There are many things about the Falklands Conflict to be proud of. (Operation Black Buck, Goose Green, Mt Tumbledown.) The Sinking the Belgrano, a forty year old WWII relic, is not one of them. It was a war crime. The blood of those Argentinian sailors is on Thatchers' hands.

On this day in 1982, the Argentine light cruiser General Belgrano was sunk by HMS Conqueror with the loss of 323 lives. HMS Conqueror was the first nuclear powered submarine to engage an enemy ship with torpedos. #Falklands44

@mrsarcasticass1 @sentdefender British troops such as the ones in this video have shot down over 100 drones and missiles. That one ship is there along side nearly 20 fighters, AEW and attack helicopters, and hundreds of troops manning surface to air missile systems such as stormer HMV.

@sentdefender This is actually embarrassing for the UK government. Their troops were literally targeted and put in harms way due to Iran mass firing ballistic missiles and drones, and the best they did was send a single ship to shoot down missiles. 1 ship. That was it.

Today, the U.K. Ministry of Defense released footage of British troops in the Middle East sheltering amidst an Iranian ballistic missile threat to their base during the conflict with Iran. They can be heard saying “I’m in position to brace lads,” as subsequently, a ballistic missile impact is detected.

My favourite comparison is that UK has a murder rate comparable with Chicago. That is to say, a country of 70m people and a city of I think 2.7m people.
Dan Salt@Danjsalt

Britain is so unsafe {Checks stats} USA - 3 assassination attempts on the current president alone - 14,000 murders in the 2025 alone - 408 mass shootings UK - 0 assassination attempts in 9 years - 0 successful ones since 1812 - 512 murders in 2025 - 0 mass shootings

@AbcAbc347433 @ronin21btc I live next to the Newcastle central motorway, thanks to Tyne bridge works my 6 minute commute went up to half an hour some mornings. People queuing in the left lane blocked the slip road on and off the motorway leaving the right lane empty and no space to merge from the slip

@PeterIanSstaker @ronin21btc On a motorway at 70mph+ yes if you're actually paying attention to what's ahead. People have different reaction times and you have to account for that. I've seen so many drivers charge down those lanes without thinking and it's obvious they derped out.

@ronin21btc Completely ignores the sign warning him the lanes merge which is why everybody is patiently sitting in the left lane to keep the traffic flowing. Oh well, at least I know the psychology now of why this stupid shit keeps happening on the motorway.
