Images of Peter with his dog's ball-chucker have defined the week. They have acquired almost cult status. Someone needs to interview that dog.

@parcelforce I sent a parcel to Germany but the tracking shows as having been delivered to my nominated collection point in Lindlar Germany. But I didn’t nominate a collection point. What should I do?

@parcelforce Tracking a parcel I sent to Germany using your service shows it as being available for collection at my nominated collection point, but I have never nominated one. What can I do?

The BBC is grossly exaggerating the number of British citizens who want to be repatriated; the 130,000+ figure they are quoting is for people responding to the consular request for Brits to register so they know where and who they are, not for people wanting flights home

@WalkerMarcus Quite right. Reform clearly have no idea how listing works. It is an important tool to protect the heritage of the building, not what happens iinside it. Its bureaucracy is more likely to hasten the demise of churches with small congregations than help them to flourish

Listing doesn’t stop a church closing or being sold. Ensuring churches have enough money to repair the buildings, enough people to raise the money (and, one might add, worship in those buildings), and aren’t drowned in paperwork when trying to repair them might.
Zia Yusuf@ZiaYusufUK

Reform will protect British culture, because a nation without a culture is just an economic zone.  We will preserve Britain’s Christian heritage, granting listed status to all churches to prohibit their conversion into places of worship for any other faith.

@TK_HelpDesk But what is the problem? I have had Parkinson’s for at least 11 years and have flown on many airlines without difficulty. I just can’t see why @TurkishAirlines has this policy. There’s no symptom of Parkinson’s that justifies it. It is a foolish policy and I urge you to drop it.

Turkish Airlines ensures the safety of each of its passengers. For this reason, passengers with Parkinson's disease can board flights with a doctor's report stating that there is "There is no risk of travel." It must also state whether the passenger can travel with or without a companion. Your understanding is much appreciated. ^Cemre

@TurkishAirlines I am considering a holiday in Turkey and also using Turkish Airlines for a longer two-leg journey but I understand you do not welcome passengers with Parkinson’s and require a recent doctor’s note confirming fitness to travel. Why do you single out my condition?

@TK_HelpDesk But I don’t understand why you do this. What aspect of Parkinson’s makes this necessary? And the uncertainty about how long a doctor’s letter will take means I can’t now book a flight with you.

@bernarddonoghue Sad news indeed, especially for Michael. Kevin was everything Bernard says, but I will also miss his generous hospitality and mischievous sense of humour. The world is a poorer place this morning.

Tragic news of the death of Kevin Bell, one of the most influential and ground-breaking lobbyists, public affairs specialists and political advisors. He died of a heart attack yesterday on his return from his and his husband’s home in Vienna. I only saw him a few weeks ago.
