Two types of people are content that Lucy Letby is in prison: the irredeemably thick and the irredeemably evil. Some occupy a place in both groups. One thing's for sure: no matter whether you're in one group, the other group or both groups, it's not a good look. Free her NOW!

@drphilhammond After a letter from Mcdonald, the programme contents has been amended on I player. Including the addition of Letby being on placement and clinically supervised. Mcdonald has also written to Ofcome.

@apsamuelson @peternhayes So, does that exclusively point to Letby poisoning the infants with synthetic insulin? A quick peek at Google Scholar could explain glucose disturbances in neonates. One that Prof Lee adequately explained in the press conference! Here's a 'scholar' screen shot.

@peternhayes This is misleading. It wasn't just the immunoassay evidence, it was all the blood glucose tests showing severe hypoglycemia and the lack of response to hypoglycemia treatment in combination with the immunoassays and the lack of any other condition that proved poisoning

Experts have discredited the insulin assay test ‘evidence’ against Lucy Letby. But it was obvious from the start that the test was unsuitable (and hence unreliable) as it said so, in red, on its label. The police interviewing Ms Letby ought to have told her this. But did they?

Dr Shoo Lee instructed a mechanical engineer, Geoff Chase, and a chemical engineer, Helen Shannon to write the reports on the insulin babies. That is correct - 2 engineers and no medical scientists. Dr Lee does not even claim that any of the neonatologists contributed to the report, not that they are in any way experts in bloods and hormones either, see screenshot below. The experts who testified regarding the insulin babies at the trial were; Consultant Pediatric Haematologist Professor Sally Kinsey Dr Gwen Wark, Director of Guildford RSCH Peptide Hormone Laboratory Dr Ana Milan, Consultant Clinical Scientist at Royal Liverpool University Hospital Professor Peter Hindmarsh, Paediatric Endocrinologist But Dr Lee and @legalmarkmc want the Great British public to believe that they have superior expertise to those who testified at the trial. You really couldn't make it up. @AnEmergentI @johnsweeneyroar @jontay44 @evenhanded909 @drphilhammond @thecarolemalone #LucyLetby

@rob_goudie @gill1109 In the trial, it all boiled down to six medical expert witnesses against plumber. In that scenario, what would be your verdict?

Ouch ... "For me the Lucy Letby trial goes much wider than Lucy herself; it represents to me a rot in society as a whole..." What confused me about this case – after Lord Justice Jackson raised questions about Dr Dewi Evans’ reliability in a prior judicial setting – was Mr Justice Goss' ruling that it was up to the jury to assess the reliability of Dr. Evans' expert testimony in light of all the evidence presented. Isn't it a duty of the court to ensure expert witnesses are fully qualified to guide the jury, not for a lay jury to assess the competence of an expert in, say, neonatal pathophysiology? youtube.com/watch?v=rSpW44…

@goodison2 @ClarkeMicah You do realise that most nurses in the country have kept handover sheets? They are personal notes made by the nurse. In the days before shredders they either went in the bin or home in your pockets.

Quite simply, Dr Ravi Jayarams' testimony under oath contradicts emails that he himself wrote at the time of baby Ks collapse at COCH. No wonder Lucy Letby said she had no recollection of events as described by Jayaram. They didn't happen. #LucyLetby thetimes.com/uk/crime/artic…

@NeoDoc11 Indeed. Lucy Letby was accused by some of 'hovering' over the babies while 'doing nothing'. In actual fact, a good, hardworking, and competent nurse will use their clinical skills of observation to look for signs of potentially serious issues before they become urgent #LucyLetby

David Davis, a rare example of an intelligent and engaged Member of Parliament, has stepped forward to address the growing concerns surrounding Dr Jayaram’s actions. His stance serves as a reminder that there are still MPs willing to defend the truth and challenge the erosion of professional integrity. Unfortunately, his example is far too rare in a political system that is increasingly concerned with self-preservation rather than the well-being of the people it serves. Until more leaders step forward to challenge the narrative, this country will continue to suffer from the growing impact of misinformation and misrepresentation. Further to the issues with discrepancies between his testimony and the truth as recorded by his own hands in an email, as flagged up by David Rose from UnHerd, Dr Jayaram, on national television, suggested that a nurse observing a premature baby during a desaturation event was somehow evidence of foul play or neglect. In reality, the observation of a desaturation event is a standard and essential procedure in neonatal care, especially since many desaturations in premature neonates are self-resolving. There are also well-established methods for determining whether the ET tube is in place properly without needing to handle the baby in the first instance as any handling event for a baby can actually further compromise them. Dr Jayaram’s claims, in a high profile interview during which he was called as “hero”, centred around a stark misrepresentation of neonatal nursing care and monitoring done by nurses when managing premature infants. Important details of medical care were distorted in that interview for the sake of sensationalism. Such reckless statements could not have come at a worse time for the neonatal nursing community. Many nurses, both in the UK and abroad, have raised concerns over the potential for misinterpretation and the broader damage caused by such public misconceptions. And despite these concerns being flagged to the General Medical Council (GMC), there has been no apparent action taken to address the issues. @drphilhammond @MartynPitman @wesstreeting @cheshirepolice @CPSUK @DavidRoseUK @DavidDavisMP

@pope2023 @support_women @NASwinnerton For the "suspicious" incidents. With Letby's presence at all of them not coincidental. The "common denominator". The problem, of course, is "if Letby was on holiday in Ibiza", a death wasn't "suspicious." It was only suspicious if she was at work. Circular reasoning.

The key technical term in statistics is "selection bias". If you choose your analysis data wrongly (i.e. in a biased fashion), then you will get an answer that is unreliable, misleading, and maybe even completely wrong. Lucy Letby's trial was selection bias on a colossal scale.
