@aslak_randers @_TrapRat @NoNonsenseND @buttonslives Nah youre not good at communicating. The other person is right.
English

@_TrapRat @NoNonsenseND @buttonslives There was no misusage, you're not welcome to correct me as nothing I said was incorrect. Correcting others, especially incorrectly, is rude, and now just experiencing the natural consequences of being rude to me.

I thought I was autistic. I was wrong.
I was 30 in 2019 when stories of women discovering they were autistic all along began appearing everywhere.
They popularized a newer understanding of autism, with its own “female presentation.” It was framed as a scientific correction to a historical wrong against women, the kind of narrative the press finds irresistible.
Like so many women, I felt immense relief when I was formally diagnosed. It offered an explanation for the mental health crises of my youth and the daily realities of my adult life.
Then I spent a year in the online autism community. What I saw there, especially the way activists treated parents of severely impaired children, turned me into a critic of neurodiversity.
But it was becoming a journalist in 2022, after discovering detransitioners’ stories, that forced me to question narratives about identity and diagnosis, including my own. Journalism also required the social skills autism says I should have lacked.
From there, the rest unraveled: many traits I had come to associate with autism are not uncommon in the general population, but through the “female autism” framework, they looked like a meaningful pattern.
I don’t think my story is unique. The same incentives that kept my diagnosis intact may also help explain why so many women are entering the autism category in adulthood.

@afrocosmist You'd probably like Ergo Proxy. Post climate collapse domed cities, robots inexplicably praying to god, talking statues of philosophers, it's great.
English

Man idk if this is ableist or whatever but if your Tourette’s makes you say the n-word I think you should just not go to a ceremony

Michael B Jordan & Delroy Lindo really held themselves well after hearing someone shout N***** at them while presenting. While John Davidson can’t help it due to his condition, it was a hard watch to see the pain in their eyes on stage.

@Doublelen @RadishHarmers @Feldfrog Shit you're right. My liege lord would part my head from my neck would I attempt such a jape.
English

@RadishHarmers @Feldfrog the transgression in this joke is rudeness
English

@jimothaniel @htGOIW Miyazaki has a similar tilt and doesn't refer to himself as a marxist because he doesn't think people are capable of it, not because he has some alternative belief he thinks is better now.
English

@htGOIW Hating "the left" is honestly the most leftist thing one can do.
Like, from what I gather, Oshii doesn't identify as a leftist anymore, but let's be fr someone complaining about tendencies among the left isn't exactly a sure sign that they've embraced reactionary politics
English

Not only Oshii but many of former New Left creators in Japan don't like the current identity politcs so much. YAS is one of those examples.
People tend to think the "left" is one solid communtiy, but they have a wide spectrum.

@allenvonghornet @inkblotPrincess Oshii's arc as a person is interesting in that he was aligned with New Leftist thought and now gets airplay from conservatives because he hates political correctness. I'm disappointed that he met with the new PM, as most of his work is critical of authority and humanist.
English

People clown on this, but I do think control decks violate one of the most important core game design principles: A game should end when someone has won.

When you're talking to someone about Magic the gathering and they say "Haha yeah I hate blue players"
English

@Tcho76521726 @TierZoo @chhopsky You can have a great game and violate something you think of as a design principle. I think you're viewing a "flaw" in a game as a grave sin instead of an (almost?) unavoidable occurrence/trade-off.
English

@TierZoo @chhopsky Right but like, that doesn't make it a design principle. Lots of great games (basically every symmetric perfect information deterministic game, for instance) has endgames where one player is strongly advantaged, in Go it's even considered rude to not resign in lost positions
English

@twinkdefcon He just wants the best for his people. There's a cute part in a program where he's teaching kids how to animate and he finds a kid into tokusatsu and talks to him for awhile and tells the camera they have the otaku connection.

English

@BenjiGameDev That is really smart. The real appeal of day/night outside the novelty is just choosing lighting you like. Picking up on that and putting it in that simply is like the definition of a good dev, great idea!

@vella_vision @Variety No, he supports Palestine over the genocide and Quentin loves israel more than he loves making sense.

Quentin Tarantino slams Paul Dano as "the weakest f*cking actor in SAG" and says "There Will Be Blood" could've been the best film of the 21st century “if it didn’t have a big, giant flaw in it… and the flaw is Paul Dano.”
“Obviously, it’s supposed to be a two-hander. But it’s also drastically obvious that it’s not a two-hander. [Dano] is weak sauce, man. He is the weak sister. [Daniel Day-Lewis] is eating him [alive]. Austin Butler would have been wonderful in that role. He’s just such a weak, weak, uninteresting guy. Daniel Day-Lewis shows that he doesn’t need a strong foil. The movie needs it. He doesn’t need anything. It’s supposed to be a two-hander and it’s not! … you put him with the the weakest f*cking actor in SAG? The limpest dick in the world?... I am not saying he is giving a terrible performance, I am saying he’s giving a non-entity performance… I don’t care for him.” (via "The Bret Easton Ellis Podcast")

@Sac_Burner @MiltonFriedmanW What on earth are you talking about? He's rallying against private business and championing the public sector while criticizing free market capitalism. This is explicitly the opposite of right wing thought with zero wiggle room.

@MiltonFriedmanW ok uhhh this is a right wing argument though, and he's kinda correct to an extent

Microsoft admits File Explorer is slow in Windows 11, and it’s going to preload it in the background to help improve launch performance.
“This shouldn’t be visible to you, outside of File Explorer hopefully launching faster when you need to use it,” Microsoft confirmed.
If you don’t want Windows 11 to preload File Explorer, you can uncheck the option called “Enable window preloading for faster launch times” in File Explorer’s Folder Options under View.
File Explorer is still snappy on Windows 10, but the modernized Windows 11 version also brought slower performance.
This change is rolling out to Windows Insiders.

@BenjiGameDev I know you didn't intend to be rude, but this was a silly thing to say.
I told you that advice was personally bad for me, and your response was point out I don't use my Twitter profile as a resume? Genuinely why act like this?
English

@ProudDota your profile doesn't link to your Steam page or your Itchio!
