At the polio session at #WHA79, I was encouraged by the strong commitment shown by Member States and partners to achieving and sustaining a polio-free world. The discussion reinforced that we have made significant progress, and that the remaining challenges are increasingly well defined: reaching missed and zero-dose children, strengthening routine immunization and surveillance systems, integrating polio efforts with broader health services, and ensuring sustainable financing to protect gains and sustain momentum. For our @WHOEMRO Region, even amidst conflict and complex emergencies, frontline health workers continue to demonstrate extraordinary dedication in reaching children with life-saving vaccines. We owe it to them, and to the children of this world, to match that commitment with strong political leadership, sustained investment and collective action. We know what needs to be done. Now we need to continue delivering on it. #EndPolio
