Booked 8 Award tickets on Air India Express via Air India 🛫 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 2x 4 passengers (round trip) • Tried to select the seats (Manage Booking) on the Air India and AI Express websites… not possible ❌ • Called Air India and they connected me to the AI Express call centre ✅ 🆓 8 seats, over two flights, booked for free over call • Flex and Standard Front seats • Actual cost of these seats on my route are Rs 1,445 & Rs 343 per seat respectively 💰 🌟 Note • Could update Maharaja Club status for us on the Air India app/website • The Air India PNR and AI Express PNR for this booking are different • Not able to enjoy Maharaja Club Gold benefits on AI Express flights yet, I was informed.

The first big casualty of CAFE3: Toyota Innova Crysta Diesel set to go away! It's the end of an era. Toyota's always had a diesel MPV right from when they started selling cars in India, beginning with the Qualis, which had a naturally aspirated (NA) 2.4 liter diesel, and a 2.0 NA petrol. Toyota then did the unthinkable, pulling the Qualis out during its prime, and brought the original Innova in its place - with 2.5 liter turbo diesel and 2 liter NA petrol engines. The first-gen Innova, after a bunch of refreshes, was again culled, but replaced with yet another body-on-ladder MPV - the Innova Crysta. Like the OG Innova, the Crysta also got NA petrol and turbocharged diesel engines. The GD diesel engine in particular was and is a legend - with an exceptional 44 % thermal efficiency. For the first time in history, Toyota sold two Innovas side -by-side: the body-on-ladder Crysta and the monocoque HyCross, which went petrol and petrol hybrid. With the Innova Crysta's discontinuation, Toyota won't just be culling diesel MPVs but also will be doing away with the ladder frame chassis? Will the Crysta be missed? Absolutely. The HyCross, for all the luxury it offers, doesn't have the sheer bad-road ability of the Crysta. I find the Crysta far more comfortable than the HyCross on mixed terrain.
