Project for Immigration Reform
These silly people think this applies to O-1 visas. This rule is mainly targeting those who arrive on non-dual-intent visas and then apply for a green card (parents arriving on a tourist visa and being sponsored for a green card by their U.S. citizen children, student visa holders being sponsored directly for an employment-based green card, etc.).
legal YIMBY alien@YIMBYPoland

Translation: if you’re a advanced researcher at OpenAI on the O1 visa (extraordinary ability) and you apply for a green card, they’ll make you go back abroad and wait years for an appointment. Of course, by then you probably no longer work at OpenAI.

H1B visa jobs do not require you to pst them publicly, so some of these are never posted in the US... I have been studying the process and know it is more complex, but I am trying to advise people how many jobs are being taken by H1B Visa employees and that we MUST stop this, at least pause it so we can get our citizen graduates all 100% placed in positions before we look at foreigners.

Just as we predicted, USCIS is prioritizing international students who studied in the United States for H-1Bs.
USCIS@USCIS

This year’s H-1B season is wrapping up, and we’re seeing great results from @POTUS’ new policies that prioritize America First! Stay tuned for more updates, but here’s what we’re seeing so far: ✅More top talent: We’re approving more applicants with advanced degrees and higher salaries—especially those who studied at U.S. universities. An overwhelming 71.5% of selected aliens hold a U.S. master’s degree or higher, compared to 57% last year. ✅Stronger workforce: These skilled workers are making a real impact on our economy and we’re closing the door on the low-wage and low-skilled foreign labor pipeline approved under Biden administration policies. This year, only 17.7% of all selected registrations were in the lowest wage category. ✅Restoring integrity: The number of properly submitted registrations plummeted by 38.5%, from 343,981 in fiscal year 2026 to just 211,600 in fiscal year 2027. This data is a clear sign that the days of abusing the program with mass, low-wage registrations are over, and that the program is better serving its intended purpose of attracting highly skilled foreign workers and protecting the wages, working conditions, and job opportunities of American workers. More details coming soon!

@TruthNetwork24 @USTechWorkers @Microsoft All these jobs are posted on LinkedIn career sites, anyone can apply. It’s open to the whole labor market, only if the hire happens to need sponsorship they have to file this LCA, big tech hiring process is very detailed and documented.

Correct, I still believe that US Citizens should contact these companies and refer to the LCA approved applications and ask to apply. They cannot legally discriminate on the basis of national origin if it is a new LCA and not a continuation LCA....if they have not already "hired" someone for the position.

The best advice I always give to newly exited founders: Open a Vanguard account. Not Fidelity. Not Schwab. Vanguard. 'Smart advice,' You might think. 'They do have the lowest fees..' Wrong. Their interface is so awful, you will never trade.. Has made my clients millions.

An internal OpenAI model has disproved one of the most well-known Erdős problems: the unit distance problem. This is, without doubt, the most impressive achievement of AI in mathematics so far. openai.com/index/model-di…

S “Soma” Somasegar It’s hard to articulate how much of an impact Soma had on @aarthir and me. He spotted us out of under grad, made sure we got our first jobs, spent time with us though he was a senior executive at Microsoft and we were random junior people and showered us with kindness. Over the years he became a mentor who would tell us how proud he was of where we had gotten. We genuinely wouldn’t have the lives and careers we have now without him. I’m still in shock and so deeply heartbroken. It’s a truly sad day. geekwire.com/2026/s-soma-so…

Larry Bushart spent 37 days in jail for posting a meme on Facebook. I’ve been doing this work for 25 years, and I can honestly say this is the worst First Amendment case I’ve ever seen. Not because Larry threatened anyone. He didn’t. Not because he committed violence. He didn’t. Not because this was a close call. It wasn’t. He posted a political meme — the kind of thing millions of Americans do every day — and local officials decided to treat it like a crime. And because they had badges, prosecutors, jail cells, and the terrifying machinery of the state behind them, they got away with it for 37 days. Larry is a retired police officer and National Guard veteran. The meme he shared quoted Donald Trump’s “we have to get over it” comment after a 2024 Iowa school shooting. Whatever you think of Trump, the meme was plainly political commentary. Perry County officials knew what it referred to. They knew it wasn’t a threat against a Tennessee school. They arrested him anyway. In the middle of the night. They set his bond at $2 million. He lost his job. He missed family milestones. He sat in jail for more than a month before the charges finally collapsed — because, of course, there was no crime here. Today, @theFIREorg secured a measure of justice: Perry County agreed to pay Larry Bushart $835,000 for violating his constitutional rights. This case should scare the hell out of people across the political spectrum. Because if the government can jail you for a meme by pretending not to understand obvious political commentary, your rights are only as secure as the good faith of the most authoritarian official in your town. That is exactly why we have the First Amendment. Not for speech everyone likes. Not for opinions that flatter the powerful. Not for the bland, safe, committee-approved stuff. It exists for moments when fear, outrage, politics, and authority all line up and say: “Surely this is the exception.” No. It isn’t. I’m incredibly proud of @theFIREorg’s legal team. And I’m even prouder of Larry Bushart for refusing to let the government get away with treating his constitutional rights like a suggestion. But despite the correct verdict, I'll probably always get angry every time I think of this case. Let’s make this the last time anyone in America is arrested — let alone thrown in jail — for a meme. Celebrate your independence. Defend your First Amendment. fire.org/news/victory-t…
