It's listening in real-time to clip your channel when you say "Twitch, clip that." as well. There is no global opt-out button. You automatically have it enabled when they roll this stuff out and need to find each features disable button. x.com/TwitchSupport/…
Twitch Support@TwitchSupport

You can now clip moments on stream with just your voice 🎬 Say "Twitch, Clip That" while you're live and Twitch automatically creates a clip for you 💬 It shows up in your Clips Manager ready to review. Available in English-only first to Partners and Affiliates 💜

The Twitch AI Summary is still listening to your broadcast and forming summaries even when disabled. I have had this feature turned off since it was implemented and decided to test it live. I spoke about how it likely is still listening in and then turned it on and didn't speak for ~5 minutes. It showed a summary of what happened while it was disabled. Fun.

Idk i feel like you're not getting it, it's one thing if they take the things you sent and train on it, fine. it's another to preemptively take everything in a directory from you're machine even if you explicitly refuse and forget the code they take your secrets as well, api keys to everything. Idk how you don't think this is insane and think this is a good thing or to be expected. Or maybe we are just talking past each other, then honestly this whole exchange is meaningless at this point

@ReyaneRemache @SebastienAlers @gamejawnsinc @hrkrshnn idk what to tell you or why you're yelling. it's at best a sloppy alternative to a git clone (bc it can include secrets), at worst some kind of nefarious plot to steal your data. what do you think it is?

SpaceXAI was caught uploading your code to its cloud. I reversed xAI's official Grok Build binary. In a controlled session with zero tool-calls, it uploaded the complete codebase to xAI's storage It ships a malware-like background code collector.
SpaceXAI@SpaceXAI

We care deeply about your privacy and respect customer choice. For teams using zero data retention, no trace and code data is ever retained. All API key use of Grok Build also respects ZDR. If ZDR is disabled, the /privacy command is available in the CLI to disable data retention, which also deletes previously synced data. Run the /privacy command to view or change your settings at any time.

Grok 4.5 just one shotted a Rust task that Fable 5 failed at even after 6-7 attempts. And it did it really fast, too...

Alright dude, no I’m not alleging it was a public bucket, and I said “S3” generically; the reported destination was actually a Google Cloud Storage bucket. The issue is not that data was stored in object storage. Every cloud service stores data somewhere. The issue is scope and consent: the CLI allegedly uploaded the entire tracked repo (including secrets and files that were not supposed to be read) and Git history in a background trace path, including files the agent did not need/read, rather than transmitting the minimum context required for the request. The reported privacy toggle also allegedly did not stop that upload. A private bucket can still be an unacceptable destination if users were not clearly told that their full repository and history would be copied there. “It wasn’t public” answers a different security question. This can't be an argument we are having now in 2026 this thing is basically malware

@ReyaneRemache @gamejawnsinc @hrkrshnn Are you suggesting it was a public S3 bucket? Because that would be an entirely different conversation. Every DM, image/video, ends up in some storage container. S3 being the largest provider. This is already common practice. Github even puts LFS stuff in to S3 style buckets.

@jquave @gamejawnsinc @hrkrshnn You didn't address the main point : I think that there is reasonable expectation from the clients that used Grok cli that spaceXAI wouldn't just upload your entire git history to a S3 bucket on the cloud. And I'm sure they have to forget getting enterprise clients after this

@ReyaneRemache @gamejawnsinc @hrkrshnn This is like suggesting a book editor shouldn't be allowed to get a copy of your manuscript. Just a few sentences here and there. And yes, essentially all cloud hosted data is potentially exposed. Ask anyone who's been impacted by data leaks before.

Then none of the cloud is safe then ? you can't expect your business data to be safe on aws ? I think that there is reasonable expectation from the clients that used Grok cli that spaceXAI wouldn't just upload your entire git history to a S3 bucket on the cloud, maybe use some data sure, but not the entire thing

@ReyaneRemache @gamejawnsinc @hrkrshnn What's insane is using a cloud hosted agentic model and expecting that your code never leaves your laptop. Use a local model if this is a priority. They're not as good but it never touches the cloud at all.

Yes there is. Let's say you wanted to debug something and you see it calls a function. Where does that function live? You have to do a search. You don't have a copy so now you respond with a request for the search, then take a copy of the relevant results. Is that all of it? It calls this other function too. Where is this defined? Search again. Back and forth repeatedly until you get the context. Alternatively: grab a copy and search once. It's nearly instant, indexable, lintable, and much simpler to work with. The server ends up with all your code eventually if you perform enough back and forth searches so why wouldn't a harness cache the codebase as an efficiency?

I made a huge mistake thinking that manual technical jobs such as electician, appliance technician etc. wd be spared by AI. Had pbs w/: HVAC, security system, outdoor lighting, pool programming etc. & was forced to solved them w/AI because technicians are slow at showing up.
