@MikeBotkin_ There’s a PE firm down here doing just that in Martin & Palm Beach County.

Here is my contribution of the day.
The industry that I tried rolling up but could not gain traction?
Residential irrigation.
I love...(repeat)...LOVE residential irrigation.
A-MAZ-ING business.
I just could not get traction/momentum.
I hope somebody sees this and does it.
Send me a check when you sell for $$$$$$

@patrickdichter Any insight on how most of your customers have their requests set up? Or what you advise?

Paging the accounting/tax companies in the SMB twitter space, anybody got good connects or recommendations to a UK & US tax specialist or someone who deals with international tax.

@SHistorians @kclairerogers Explains why people are nicer on the wet coast!

When we moved to Florida about a dozen years ago, I was thrown off by the amount of U-turns.
I started calling them “Florida Lefts.”
Florida is atleast two states if not three.
The East Coast of Florida is much like the NE USA and the West Coast of Florida is much like the Midwest. The reason why:
the interstate system. It’s a generational bias that goes back to vacationers using the highway system before planes became the most frequent mode of transportation.
Fun little #nongolfhistory factoid. I-75 travels up through the Midwest and I-95 travels up through the Northeast.

@chandlerreed Surprised by this reaction? As someone who is a green card holder but not a citizen (yet).

@patrickdichter Coming from a kid that flew on Concorde when I was 11.

@patrickdichter IMO I don’t think travelling and experiences is what would make kids feel entitled as I think it opens their eyes, it would be the stuff at home that mattered!

I had a great vaca with the fam in Punta Cana last week and it was always make me reflect on the business…
- Nowadays the business could hum along without me and hold steady for 1-2 months. Hiring, marketing and planning wouldn’t happen, but steady state ops and sales would happen
- I was energized and excited to get back to work, my wife was not
- I worked 30-45 minutes a day to keep things moving, put out a couple fires, move some sales along
- I feel like my content strategy needs to be sharpened and focused again
- One of my biggest fears is raising entitled, spoiled kids. It’s feel hard to balance traveling and not create spoiled kids

@andywalkerhq @Fish_wid_a_V How about once you are in the commercial space where it seems to be more relationship building based?

I struggle with Sales naturally, and always have. Most people that know me know that, but as owner of the company, I feel like I have a responsibility for it to be a big part of my job.
What strategies have others with similar issues used to just get after it? #smbtwit

@MikeBotkin_ @therobertbrooks @ServiceTitan Thoughts on if Aspire will continue to be king of the landscaping world given the Servicetitan takeover?

ST is awful software. Ironically, it’s similar to a service rollup that just smashes things together… because that’s exactly what they are.
ST has awful customer support, and the reps aren’t knowledgeable about the products or features.
Fortunately for them, it’s still the best the market has to offer. Two truths.

I'll give credit where credit is due.
@ServiceTitan acknowledged their mistake, escalated my situation and had someone rally a new implementation team for me to start tomorrow as planned.
I know general software pretty well and just how hard it is, but I specifically know CRM migration very well since my data and AI experience was tied mostly to the migration of data across CRMs, Datalakes and AI platforms.
With that experience, I do not expect this to go perfect... It's legitimately very complex. But.. maybe we can make this go decent with ST putting the right focus on quality and getting the right team in place to do this with me.
I'm sure there will be some lessons learned. I'll likely share at least some of them here along the way.
Rob Brooks@therobertbrooks
Well.. I'm supposed to be onboarding with @ServiceTitan tomorrow and nobody was reaching out to schedule the work. Find out my implementation "manager" was out or something like that, and when I called him he acted like I was some random guy calling his cell phone - "Hello" So I called him on it.. and guess what.. his phone is forwarded to his cell phone. He has no idea who I am, then proceeds to tell me the date I have is incorrect (its not.. I have the emails to prove it) I don't expect much from them after its all turned on.. but I at least need some help getting it all turned on. This is not a great start...

@guessworkinvest When I initially went down the search path I looked at funded and my reasoning was for the advice and support, Jim Sharpe said something along the lines of ‘you don’t need someone to invest in you and own part of your company in order for them to give you an opinion’

@realEstateTrent Happy to be playing the non shady vendor game, but makes me wonder sometimes how many aren’t!

@LouStagner Easiest golf courses? I could get behind that. Florida for example tough with all the water and houses.
