From watching OpenAI Dev Day on YouTube last year to being part of the keynote this year- feeling grateful and inspired!
dharmesh@dharmesh

Woo hoo! OpenAI highlights HubSpot partnership on main stage at #DevDay. Today was a special day for me. Was so cool to see @sama from @OpenAI feature @HubSpot from the main keynote stage at their Dev Day event. HubSpot and OpenAI are the two most impactful companies in my life. HubSpot, for obvious reasons and OpenAI for less obvious ones. My relationship with Sam and OpenAI goes back a bit: 1) Got access to the GPT-2 API so had my "moment of magic" well before ChatGPT launched. 2) Have been using OpenAI's APIs and platform to build apps and agents for years. They *really* understand developers and have an amazing dev experience. 3) Sold the chat .com domain name to them and as a result was able to become an investor in the company. 4) They're the primary AI platform that HubSpot partners with and builds with -- as highlighted today. My congrats to the entire OpenAI team for today's event. I know how much work goes into putting together an event like this. And it was clear from the vibes how much you folks *care*. Cheers.

so, it’s become a trend that big techs buy startups without saying they are buying them and that founders exit with big bucks without saying they are exiting 🧐

Every year, a lottery determines who gets an H-1B visa to work in the US. The game, it turns out, is rigged. Outsourcing and staffing firms are exploiting loopholes, crowding out US employers and immigrants who play it fair. We have exclusive data to show it for the 1st time 🧵

Despite having almost no money, academics still developed (just since 2020) diffusion models, FlashAttention, prefix tuning, DPO, essentially every neural IR model, many of the methods for long contexts, and the majority of the important benchmarks, among many other things.

We do a lot of cutting edge research at the Stanford AI Lab, but really our main job is training people. Here is a list of the great SAIL Graduates of 2024, who are variously looking for academic and industry jobs. Compiled by @judyhshen and @johnhewtt. ai.stanford.edu/blog/sail-grad…

Obligatory ICLR tweet: DSPy accepted as Spotlight. 1. This could be a notable start of a pattern at ML confs—as our metareviewer says, "refreshing to see this unconventional research style (developing programming models) at ICLR" 2. Time for a crisp thread on DSPy & what's new?

@lateinteraction Not an expert on this but just chipping in! dspy.ai seems to be currently configured with the 302 url forwarding. The best way to speed things up maybe is to not depend on extra redirects (302) and instead set-up an alias record (CNAME)? Caveat: requires gh pages

I host dspy.ai on name.com and it just does DNS forwarding to our GitHub repo. The forwarding is 1-2 seconds slower than I'd like, though. Is this something one could fix somehow?

This might shake the whole AI industry. Elon and the XAi team just announced one of the strongest competitor to ChatGPT named Grok. Here's everything you need to know: - Grok has real-time access to tweets from X - It will have a "live" search engine connected to X. - It already surpasses GPT3 on some benchmarks - 25,000 char. context window - Can handle multi-tasking/chat - Image/Audio recognition APIs are planned - Will run natively in Teslas Available to all X Premium+ subscribers as soon as it’s out of early beta.
