Holly Cooper and Taylor Johnson, both 20 and from the West Midlands, were arrested on April 26 after flying into Turkey from Thailand. What should have been just a stopover has turned into something far more serious. Authorities allege the pair tried to smuggle two suitcases packed with cannabis onto a connecting flight back to London. They never made it. Customs officers detained them within minutes of landing. Since then, they’ve been held in a Turkish jail facing the very real prospect of spending up to 30 years behind bars if convicted.
