Our CLO & Interim CFO, Peter Wexler, spoke at the @Securing_Energy #SAFESummit2026 on the panel “American Headquarters, Global Mines”, discussing how U.S.-based firms are advancing supply chain security while competing across global markets and navigating complex geopolitical, regulatory, and commercial environments. Peter highlighted that for Newmont’s global mining operations, stability, alongside predictability, strong governance, and international partnerships, are paramount for enabling long-term investment in critical minerals infrastructure and supply chain security. The event brought together leaders from government and industry to advance dialogue on energy and critical minerals and underscored the importance of aligning policy, capital, and commercial frameworks to strengthen supply chain resilience in a complex geopolitical environment. #EnergySecurity #CriticalMaterials

What policy is needed to sustain the momentum from Project Vault and continue strengthening the critical mineral supply chain? "You're going to need both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue active on this." Seth Levey, Head of U.S. Corporate Affairs at @Glencore, brought his perspectives as miner and trader on the legislation necessary so that the U.S. government can be a partner for private sector mining projects. #SAFESummit2026

.@Axios' @Ben_Geman asked @T1Energy CEO & Chairman about solar energy and U.S. exports of oil and LNG in the context of the conflict in Iran. Geman: Is there a nexus there between solar power and our ability to continue or even expand those exports? @danielbarcelo: The more solar that's available…on the US grid...that means more molecules can be exported in the form of oil or natural gas. #SAFESummit2026

Three takeaways from Venkatesh Vasudevan's (@ExxonMobil) #SAFESummit2026 presentation on advanced synthetic graphite: 1. Battery and graphite demand is growing fast. What was once a niche material is now core infrastructure across the economy. 2. This creates a unique opportunity to secure supply of advanced synthetic graphite. 3. Moving from demonstration to full scale production will take time, engineering expertise, and capital.

Is there enough energy for both tech and manufacturing? "If you don't have steel, you don't have aluminum…don't have data centers, you don't have a country." Century Aluminum's CEO Jesse Gary said there's no "two sides" of the table. "The energy is there. We just need to make sure it goes to the right places. And we need to make that it continues to grow." #SAFESummit2026

"This is not a situation in which Chinese automakers would be…principally interested in competing freely and fairly for profit." @Chris_Griz from @AmerCompass said at #SAFESummit2026 on Chinese automakers entering the U.S. market. "Think of what's been happening in critical minerals…When we have a dispute with China, their threat is to constrict the flow of the critical minerals we depend on. … Imagine what it would be like for them to have total control of a vertically integrated supply chain all the way up to a whole critical sector in the United States"
