Now @Dave_Eby and @KahlonRav if you hadn’t taken my legal rights to run my Legal Short Term rental, that was grandfathered in and purposely built to be a short term rental. A small space zoned for commercial use, not residential. I paid a premium, paid a fee for a business license, paid appropriate taxes. It was never meant to be used for long term rental, too small for any family, with no facilities, not even parking. I used it also to come visit my grandkids at least once a month. And supplement my income as I am retired. I never ever thought that I would be told what I can and cannot do with my property, especially in a free enterprise. The so called housing crisis was not my fault and neither am I A greedy landlord, the furthest from one. Now I have so much time on my hands, and all the time to rant. What ever happened to free enterprise, freedom to choose how I spend my hard earned money? I was promised by the city that it was zoned to run as a short term rental . Who would ever have thought! You have hurt a lot of honest hard working British Columbians. And to add insult to injury. The amount of Legal short term rentals has had no impact on the housing and rental shortages. It has done far more hurt than help.
