Four years ago today, 19 fourth-graders and two teachers went to school and never came home. They were shot and killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Trump on the campaign trail is music to the Democrats ears. Bring on his talk of the affordability hoax, the cognitive test they give to people who have had traumatic brain injuries, and that we have the hottest economy in the world. Trump is cratering support with key demographics: republicans, non-MAGA GOP, white voters, rural voters. Democrats are winning election after election. Rob Sand may be the governor of Iowa! Greg Abbott says behind closed doors that a Democrat could win statewide. And even folks like Josh Hawley admit there are no GOP accomplishments to speak of. A Republican campaign built on maligning Americans’ cost of living concerns, a vanity ballroom, and a slush fund for criminals is a loser.

Nearly every decision the Trump Administration makes raises our energy prices for Americans. They yanked $30 million in electricity grants to cut Floridians' utility costs, yet somehow found money to hike the Energy Secretary's personal office budget.

I believe deep in my bones that no one is above the law — no corporation, no President. And I won’t quit fighting to defend that essential American principle in Congress and in our courts. What we are seeing from President Trump’s Justice Department is further evidence of how broken this mission-critical institution is today and how far it has fallen from its sacred obligation to uphold the rule of law.
